Pixelated Fire & Artyom's Watch
For some reason fire is super pixelated for me and the numbers on Artyom's watch are as well. As if it's interlaced or something. I play on a RTX 2080 ti and an i9 9900k at Ultra settings with Ultra Ray Tracing and DLSS on. I tried turning DLSS off and it does improve it but not completely.

Anyone know whats going on here? Might do a reinstall and see if anything changes.

Before you do that, maybe try some, or all of the things I did in order to get the game to run well for me. Your equipment is better than mine---I have a i9-7900X with two RTX2080s, and I used to have the same issues with this game as a lot of other people, incuding you. I've included a link to the page where I posted the combination of 'fixes' that solved ALL of those issues for me. Maybe one or all of them will help resolve the problem you are having.

Already on the reinstall :D But if it persists I'll check it out, thanks.

Good luck. Something just occurred to me----if you are using the steam cloud saves sync feature, your problem might have been a corrupted save, as the cloud saves are notorious for getting corrupted very easily in this game, and a lot of players are disabling that feature, and just using the saves from their 'saved games' files. It used to happen to me, but after I disabled that feature, I haven't had a single bad save.

No I am not using steam cloud and it also was a brand new save, first ever save in fact.

Just curious, but have you tried to reload the Nvidia drivers to see if that might help?

This is common with transparent objects like candles/glass, they're running at like half resolution. I remember it not being present at launch but came about in a patch after. Using DLSS makes it more noticable.

Well a reinstall did nothing, though I suspected it wouldn't. It seems to be related to the games antialiasing. Turning DLSS on make the problem much more noticeable, but if you just play without it it's almost completely gone. But it is still there if you pay some scrutiny to it.

Going to try some of those steps @Rudi-v

I have the same GPU and CPU as you do. I do not have these Issues however, from time to time I have a growing black mass that takes over the screen and grows unless I move my head left to right and then it will grow again. Next time it happens, I will post it but it will go away after a moment or so.

I didn't have these problems originally when I played on Epic Games Store. I rebought this game for Steam and haven't got around to playing until just now so I assume it's some sort of update. But it's very noticeable to me it's not exactly pixellated per se, it's more like there are lines present.

Anyway, the fixes did not work for me, @Rudi-v.

For now I'm just going to play without DLSS and put up with it. Without DLSS on it's basically fine anyways.

I'm sorry to hear that. I actually Tried running the game with and without DLSS to see if anything at all changed for me, and the ONLY thing that was different is that my frame rate dropped a bit. About that black mass that was mentioned---- I experienced the same thing a couple of times myself------, but once I increased the VRAM in my Windows Page file from the default 4+GB that it was, to the 11 GB that the 'Official PC Specs recommend for very high end systems, I haven't ever had that happen again, and I've played through the game numerous times, now.

Good to know and thank you for the information. I will do this now.

If you need DLSS to hit good enough framerates with RTX, def do it. DLSS is not as bad as it was at launch and has gotten better over the year since, though still not perfect.

These half/lower resolution transparent objects aren't often on screen or close enough to notice... which makes the actual purpose of this entire thing elusive.

Why not LOD down the resolution ratio of these transparent object like gas mask glass/candle or fire flames to be lower at a distance and 1:1 resolution up close? They clearly aren't tanking the FPS.
