Metro Exodus Patch Update

We appreciate that you have been communicating issues to us; 4A Games and Deep Silver are still committed to fixing them as fast and reliably as possible. We had planned to have released a patch already for some issues reported after the release of Sam’s Story, but the current situation has caused delays.

Releasing a patch requires the involvement of the Developer, Publisher, External Partners such as QA, and Platform/Store owners working together on tight timelines to get the fixes to you. Normally this can be done quite fast when needed, but these are not normal times and some elements of the process are much harder to schedule or facilitate on both human and technical levels right now.

In the meantime we ask that you please continue to report issues to tech support at https://techsupport.metrothegame.com/ and supply as much information as possible including any logs or files possible depending on your platform.

save game bug that keeps messing up saved weapon mods and armour mods. less frequent with cloud off but still get random losses to pickups

In The Two Colonels DLC, After Colonel Miller talks with Kiril in the first cinematic when you start the dlc, it loads a screen with fire, i think it's saving or loading something and then it crashes with fatal error.
I'm sure I'm not the only one facing this, is there a fix or any news regarding this issue ?
It's frustrating that you pay for a game that should work flawlessly and it doesn't, not to mention that the main game has a lot of bugs and glitches.
I have a 9700k with RTX 2080 and 32 gb of ram, playing on 2k with extreme settings, so my pc is more than fine.

You have a great rig, and all things being equal, I'm sure this game would run well for you. Deep Silver has said that they are trying to get a patch out, but apparently the Covid-19 virus has kept the team (4A Games and others) from working together in the studio. Hopefully this situation will change in the very near future.

I have the same problem, it’s impossible to play comfortably, the game is cool and everything looks beautiful, but very often a fatal error pops up on DX12, the configuration of my computer allows me to play at maximum graphics settings, this is an obvious cant of developers, I have not found a solution yet, but on dx11 everything works without a problem, but the effect of the game is different, it's not so interesting to play.

Well, for the first time my saves got corrupted. Lost all collectibles and few hours of progress.

Hope the patch comes out soon. I'd like to be able to shovel coal into the train's boiler without it hard locking my entire computer.

Sure, I could have just skipped past that and probably made it all the way to the infamous lighthouse crash, but my immersion...

The optimization is UNNACCEPTABLE in this game.

Half the time it crashes and what's worst you LITERALLY have to restart the PC from the restart button. I couldn't even get task manager up to kill the damn process.

METRO EXODUS HOT FIX - 27 MAY 2020
We are pleased to let you know that the latest hotfix for Metro Exodus has now been deployed. This includes Denuvo removal, filter fix for Sam's Story and Epic save backups. We thank you for your patience during the wait for this update. The hotfix for Stadia users will follow, stay tuned for updates.

Hotfix notes are as follows:

Removed Denuvo from Steam, Epic, Xbox PC Gamepass versions.
Fixed the rapidly discharging filter issue in Sam’s Story on all platforms (extreme timer depletion in fog).
This fixes the filter issue just after getting the boat from the humanimal hunter lair and proceeding into the fog beyond. Filters depleting quickly in the high rad zone near the sub base without the proper hazmat suit from the fire depot, is by design.
Added save backup functionality for Epic version in case of cloud save malfunction.
Browse to the default save folder to find a “.backup” folder.
Fixed camera rotation issue with latest Nvidia Ansel update.
Fixed various crashes.
