The "bad" ending (spoilers obviously)
Am I the only one who found this ending to be vastly more interesting then the happily ever after one? Get to meet a few interesting characters and in general seemed longer then just the stroll with Miller.

Never been more gutted. Didn't want it to end like that after everything lol. I got the bad ending in last light too.

I think the bad ending is really depressing, especially for Anna, losing both her father and husband at the same time and somehow having to go on living alone.

The bad ending is the only true ending in this game. The good ending doesn't fit AT ALL.

Yes, you are the only one

the good ending is not happy ever after, Miller dies, Anna's father an Artyom's great friend, a hero.

It's pretty happy ever after...the hero Artyom lives the rest of his days with his wife....obviously they were going to have casualties at some point in the story lol. The bad ending is simply way more interesting due to Bourbon and Khan being there....the latter which was extremely welcome as I loved this character from the previous two games.
1. Metro 2033 bad ending.
2. Metro Last Light good ending.
3. ...

Why doesn't it fit?

I had no idea Bourbon and Khan turned up :O.
I got the good ending and I just assumed the bad ending would be similar, it's just not enough people to give enough blood to save Artyom.

Maybe Khan was at the good ending and I forgot xD? It was very abrupt, went from tense escape and panicked drive to credits rolling in 2 mins.

It doesn't fit (the good ending) because it's way too cheery. It's all happy. Yeah Miller dies but everything else is just wonderful. It just rings false and like out of a Disney movie. The good ending is an embarrassment. Only the bad one fits the series narrative.

You mean like 2033 good ending, not sure how you figure it doesn't fit the narrative in each location depending how you treat the locals someone in your team will either leave, be killed or wounded. The ending sequence reflects what happens. Besides the difference in both is minor, either Artyom lives or dies. If it was cheery Miller would have somehow lived.

I liked it personally, it was not exactly fairy tale, we just never got the details of what issues Baikal has, the world is still a nuclear aftermath with roaming bandits, mutant hordes and constant radiation exposure.

The good ending is a hard fought moment of peace after 3 games worth of Artyom fighting for it, the area they settled in is still a part of the Metro world and no part of that world is capable of a fairy tale ending.

The good ending of last light was the canon narrative by default of Artyom still living, in my opinion, the dark ones saving the guy that blew most of them up is just as unrealistically cheery when taken out of context and presented on it's own.

I did not know about the existence of two ending and i got the bad one.
Then i found a list with the important choices and i think i got right 2/3 but it was not enough; i especially failed a bunch of times on being stealh (and never repeated the level) so i think that it's an important part and probably i near missed the good ending for a scratch.

Sorry for being late to this topic.
First,ok! You'd call me casualist...
I'm here to say it's unfair to make the bad ending so easy to get!!!
I did not kill any children/pioneers/pirates. I did not kill all the zealot's!!!
The first person that gave up. I ignored. Searched nearby and crafted for 5 mins.
He then decided to go back to killing me! So I killed him & all others like him from then on.
It's absurd to think I needed to not kill anyone!!!! Or only 10%.
With needing 90% of everything I can find to survive.
This has dampened my fun!
I have enjoyed all the metro's.
BS!
