RNG in aim

I am a very seasoned FPS player, and can't help to notice that there seems to be a lot of RNG to every shot. I can aim and make 100% sure that the target is in the center and fire - only to see the shot land quite a distance up/down/to the sides off of the intended target area.

I'm a bit of a OCD perfectionist, so I go for 100% headshots in all games if possible - and will even reload entire chapters unless I do so. This game makes it kind of frustrating.

So my question is this: are there tricks for working around this RNG aim that I am missing (except for increasing accuracy with mods I guess)?

I noticed this with my playthrough too, not sure if bug or it was intentionally designed this way to add to the atmosphere about post apocalyptic where guns are made using whatever you can find and are not always accurate? But to answer your question, no I don't think there is a way around it.

Maybe they introduced, wind as a variable and the coriolis effect. Also, the guns you are firing are either decades old, or made with junk. Its normal their accuracy isnt top notch

That RNG they use for the freezes on the X is currently more frustrating for me and there's still no patch after 12 days now and my patience has its limits.

Normally guns that don't fire where you aim can be calibrated to fire where you aim (have gun experience irl). They shouldn't go off in random directions. If it was consistently off aim I could compensate for it, is what I mean. But too bad that it can't be fixed, it seems :( Thanks for the help, guys

It seems to be related to the weapon cleaning mechanics, that is my best guess.

This is probably the most probable explanation imo

Dirty guns are much less accurate.

That is useful info to know. Thanks! (I do keep my guns constantly clean though, so still a lot of rng to shots)

i use the silenced 8 shot revolver and go for head shots where i can and it hits dead centre every time for long rage shots i switch to the long barrel for it i can kill the sniper on the crane from the truck in the caspian area with a head shot and anna then claims she tagged him and bagged him

agreed i seem to find the revolver more accurate in general , i usually mod it up and also have 4x scope seems pretty accurate .

In tests I've done it is less accurate than the sniper rifle (both with best mods). And the sniper rifle is pretty inaccurate at even quite short distances (accuracy dip very noticeable already at medium to long ranges). Sometimes shots land where you aim, sometimes they are miles off. I only go for headshots, so I can really see how badly both sniper and revolver misses. I use the 6x scope on the sniper and 4x on the revolver.

on my latest playthrough i used the silenced revolver to kill the sniper on the crane in caspian area again from the blue truck this time with the short silenced barrel so its quite accurate for a pistol
