Is there a consequence to killing the bandits in the Caspian Sea?

I want to maintain good karma, i didn't kill any of the villagers in Volga but i did kill the bandits because they were attacking the villagers and now seeing that these bandits have slaves I feel like it is morally ok to kill them, but i just want to make sure i can do that and still hold good karma, otherwise ill just knock them out.

It's ok to kill the thugs, just don't kill slaves and slave guards (combat trained slaves) if you are unsure if you're fighting a thug or slave guard just knock them out. I always save the game before any fight.
