How do I open the crafting backpack on pc

I must have missed a tip prompt or something but I never found out how to open the backpack to craft stuff on the go, i've looked online for the past 30 minutes and all the tutorials are on Playstation of Xbox and are practically acting like PC Metro exodus doesn't even exist.

I have played through the game twice now and I did NOT know that I can craft with the backpack.

You just did that? Well, the bench lets you clean and make military ammo. The backpack lets you only craft basic things and pneumo ammo. You might want to try the game with that feature :P

LOOOL hahahaha sorry for the necroing but found this on google, ended the game a few days ago and now I know that you can use the backpack to craft things¿? Can anyone confirm if this is shown in any part or zone when playing? like a tutorial or a text stamp or something?

If I missed ok, my fault but if not lol... wtf XD well the game wasnt that hard with only workbench but my god XD

Tokarev explain to you when you get the backpack it is a portable workbench. Like right when you exit with Anna on Volga level and he help you put the backpack on. I got the prompt of open the backpack with I right afterwards on my first playthrough having hints on.
