Forcing players to use a specific weapon goes against the entire point of the new modding system (giving players more 'choice' in their arsenal) and is just a bad design choice overall. It boggles my mind that they put so much work into the modding system and then decide to force the player to, realistically, only ever be able to use two guns.

You're forced to nothing. It only makes sense for ammo management in higher difficulties. On anything other than Ranger Hardcore you can use the conventional ammo.

It still nonetheless takes away the players choice. Even if it's a good choice to use the Tihar to conserve ammo the player should be the one who decides that. If he decides that he would like to use the Valve, Shambler or anything else instead of the Tihar then he should be given that choice.

i agree, tho the devs kinda force you to use a ♥♥♥♥ launcher as well so its not like they care obout what the player wants

the kalash should have been the weapon you cannot get rid off as its the first gun you get and most useful with the option to replace with the bulldog once you find it. I honestly never used the rifle as i never need to switch from my ak aside from in dead city where i used the shambler with box mag
Man lotsa crybabies in here.

Breaking News:

Sometimes life isn't perfect and you must use unconventional, if not undesirable methods to complete a task. Or, of you're a spoiled kid, cry about it to anyone that will listen and/or give up on it like everything else in your life that's 'inconvenient'.

Nothing in this world is perfect. And the devs probably had some thoughts, that they placed the Tihar and the Hellsing in a forced slot. You can even use both guns offensively if you want. You lose nothing with the devs choice.

You lose the choice of selecting what weapon you want to use. I say that's quite a big loss.

You have two other slots with weapons of your choice. Thats more than you need. In the original Last Light and in both Redux games you got taken a whole weapon slot in Ranger mode taken away and the games are still easy doable. This is just whining at this point now.

So according to you, I'm whining because I don't like the sudden change of being forced to use a certain weapon that I don't like? You see if this was a Ranger Hardcore change then that would be fine. But it isn't. Last Light and 2033 allowed the player to use 3 weapons of the players choice. That's freedom of choice. This isn't. This is just having that freedom partially taken away. I think you're failing to grasp the situation here.

Yes, you're whining at this point. Compared to Last Light and the Redux games you get a third weapon back. This is already kind enough. And there's most likely a reason why the Tihar and Hellsing are in a forced slot.
Simply because of the crafting system. You can craft ammo for both guns on the field. For any other ammo you need a work bench.

I can guarantee you, that people will even more complain, if they use 3 weapons with conventional ammo, running dry with every weapon and can't defend themselves anymore. With the Tihar and Hellsing you won't have this problem.

Yes. Plainly, yes.

Still should be an option to swap it out quite frankly...in a game that supposedly encourages critical thinking in terms of resource management handing you a gun that "saves" you from running out of ammo, it just comes across as babys first fps game to me.

Fantastic logic.
>Player doesn't like a change in the game
>You're just whining

I guess then we can dismiss all valid criticism and problems with games because they're just complaints from whiney people. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I gave solid reasons why your complaint is nothing to worry about, yet you still come with "muh freedom". It's the devs choice how the game is meaned to be played, not yours. You're allowed not not like it, but you have to adapt to the devs choice.
Your complaint began to be whining with your stubbornness
