Dealing with spider webs
I'm wondering if there's a way to deal with/burn away those large webs hanging from the ceiling without getting spiders crawling over you. As someone who has arachnophobia it can create quite the intense situation to say the least... Haha the first time it happened I almost flew out of my chair!

This game is brilliantly well made and adds alot of finer details which add to the immersion (such as this even) but for some like me it's friggin intense

Try a Molotov. But I don't know if the spiders still hug you. :brownchicken:

I tried but the webs are immune to Molotov damage lol!

if molotovs dont do a thing then you just have to use the lighter. people dont call this franchise spoopy for nothing

Then you have to accept the spiders like they accept you. :brownchicken:

only time i have got the spiders on me was when i actually moved into it. if you open the lighter and move slowly it should dissapear before you get spiders on you, Unless ofcourse i have only been "lucky" (no arachnophobia what so ever, so luck doesn't really apply for me here)

I tried the super slow approach too with my lighter but they still come to say hello. Looks like I must Leroy through all the web parts I guess! Thanks for the replies

I'm not really scared of spiders, well not of the little ones we have here in the UK, but if a couple the size of the ones in the game crawled over my arms and face i'd be a little afraid lol. However, they always do the same thing and are never a threat so after a while you'll just get used to them i'm sure!

Yea same with me, I mean the largest I've seen on the west coast of Canada was the size of the palm of my hand but that's rare, they're usually half that. But they keep to themselves. I don't like it but it's not the end of the world it's the idea of having them on me crawling around and this game simulates that very well. But thanks, I will power on and I'm sure it'll get better, who knows maybe by the end of the game I'll be cured lol

I'm playing on a 34" ultra wide, that's alot of spider in your face!

I appreciate you soldiering through your phobia and not making such a big deal out of it that stuff like this gets completely removed from the game. Like Capcom did in RE2 remake.

Shine you flashlight into it the spiders will climb up. The you can burn them without them crawling on you.

Did they actually do something like that? Jeeze. As sketchy as it is in metro it's a great mechanic that adds to the atmosphere and setting. Pity to remove something that adds so much to the game just because of a few people don't want it.

And Bassdeff I tried that, watching them scurry up thinking I'm now safe but alas they still crawl around

There are a few areas in the game which you might find difficult, with your phobia.
The area under Caspian lighthouse, and an area in Taiga, just after meeting the Admiral and his (very dead) friends.

Just remember it's a only a game.

Phobias can be cured permanently with gradual exposure. I've helped to rid people of their phobias (cats, heights, social phobia) by helping them to push themselves to face those fears.
Hard at first, but gets easier over time until it becomes non existent.

Give it a shot :)

Those big spiders that burn when you light them up? Yeah, those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I hate especially. I spent that enter Caspian bunker twitching from side to side to keep everything in view, with lighter out, flashlight always on max power, and my Tikhar loaded with flame pellets...

Man up, they're not real
wape Mar 3, 2019 @ 6:18am
Tikhar with incendiary rounds is god mode against those Spiderbugs. The "little" ones on the webs disgust me when they start crawling on me, but that's all.
