Will Exodus spoil metro 2035 book?

So i have read metro 2033, just started 2034 and 2035 is waiting on my shelf. I would like to play Metro Exodus but i also don't want to spoil anything from the books that i haven't yet read.

How much are metro 2035 and Exodus stories connected? Am i safe to play Exodus without spoiling the book?

The novel ends right where the game starts, essentially. Last Light is partly in 2035 but its so different I think you're fine.

Think of Exodus as a speculative story of what would happen if Artyom and crew decided to leave the Metro, maybe not exactly canon like the novels.
