Cannot launch the Game
So, since i didnt preordered the game on steam and really wanted to play it, being a long time fan of the metro series, i bought it on the epic launcher.
Problem is, whenever i try to launch the game, it just opens up a black screen and im forced to reboot the pc, can't even go back to the desktop.
Now i think it's something related to the DX12, although even if i restart the pc, when the game asks to start into safe mode, it's still the same, game won't load even in safe mode.
Ive scoured all the threads i could find in the forum, and im without option, still if someone has any idea ho wi could get the game to load properly or change the DX from 12 to 11 in the game files, which i cant locate cause of the epic launcher..much appreciated.

Also reinstalling the game didn't work. Any tips ? Should I wait for another patch ?

No joke, refund the game and wait until the bugs are fixed. It is almost like early access. I get that black screen bug also, but I hit random keys and the screen comes back sometimes. Often If I can get out of the window, it still doesn't free the mouse.

In a year, the bugs should be gone. Hopefully.

I have the same problem ...

Had the same problem. I renamed the "Credits" and Legal" files in the main directory. Leave "intro" as is. Solved my problems and made the Main Menu come up faster too.
Also, Ctrl Alt Del would let me sign out instead of having to reboot my PC.

any chance your using a GPU monitoring software like MSI afterburner? if so check if "Riva tuner statistics server" is running and if it is make an profile for metro in it and select application detection level "none" so it does not monitor when your in game. its rare but some games dont play well with Riva, couldn't get the game to launch until i did this.

It was simply some bug with the credits and legal movie files, coupled with the dx12. As someone suggested above, renaming those two files made the game to load up, so i could change the dx from 12 to 11.
For now im running it maxed out in dx11 with no problem.
