epic game store doesnt auto update
I was still pissed with the epic game store move but was letting this matter dye. Then the axion verge accident happened, the game didnt launched because of missing steam files. LOL. And then i see the comments and discover the store doesnt auto update the games. So Deep silver screwed the develepores for a store that has so little to be called store. And those woke are saying that the fortnite launcher is going to compete with steam. For i see, cant have compete with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ uplay much less steam.

I actually dislike it when games update without my permission.

Pretty sure the game will update when updates are available. That's the main point of having digital distribution.
You guys must be very dense to think autoupdates are not a thing. Maybe they notify you and you have to click install but nothing bad about that.
But you won't have to go get the updates yourself like back in the day.

Not auto-updating would be a good thing.

Forced auto-updates is one of the worst things about Steam.

There is no forced update in steam...
You can disable updates for every game individually

what the hell are you talking about? games on the Epic store most certainly will auto update unless you turn auto updates off.

Steam used to have a do not update this game option, they removed it, which is annoying especially if you are playing modded games and the game updates going on to break your mods, forcing you to find work around so that the game doesn't update.

no-auto updates is imo a positive feature not negative.

you can't, there is only an update on launch alternative, which misses the whole point of not updating a game.

As far as Auto-updates there is an option for that in the settings.

If you click on "Allow Auto Updates" you see here
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1653204784

It adds another option to the games to click on each one to allow auto-updates

Right, but when you go to play the game, it forces you to update anyways before you can play it.

Online only games is understandable.

Yes, for online only games it make sense to force updates. It doesn't make sense to force updates on anything else, and Steam really needs an option to choose to not update at all and still play the game.

Well atleast they have a offline mode unlike some game launchers 😉😂

Even in Steam's offline mode, if the client already got notification that an update is waiting it will not let you play the game till you go online and update it.

Epic Games Client has offline mode.

Epic Store now has offline mode? Last I checked it did not.
