[Xbox One X] Gamma Issue / Black Crush still not solved
- They added 3 Color Spaces now (SRGB, SRGB limited and REC.709(BT.709))
- But they apparently only fixed Gamma/Black Crush for SRGB
- Now SRGB limited and REC.709 has black crush, while SRGB doesn't

REC.709 is the default standard for HDTV, so you know they fixed the gamma issues and black crash for the wrong Color Space on Consoles. :steamfacepalm:

Also even worse, the gamma black crush was because they borked the limited and full spectrum to begin with, so seeing that of all things SRGB limited and REC.709 is borked show me that the initial issue wasn't fixed.

Also REC.709 is the same as SRGB limited but without CRT non-linear gamma, because in 8-bit color depth black is level 16, and white is level 235 and in 10-bit color depth, full range levels are between 0 and 1023, mapped to standard 8-bit 16-235. And my guess is that this game doesn't support full spectrum 0-255 mapping and the core issues is somewhere there on the remapping.

So clearly the core issues were not fixed at all, especially bothersome on 12 bit HDTV like the one i use, where i can put the slider all up to the right and the symbol on the left will not show up, because the range of black is so huge that 50% of all shades are simply mapped to black.

Yeah I could use SRGB now where the left symbol now already appears if i put the slider 25% but in SRGB everything is too bright and like if there is a grey layer over everything. I guess that's because SRGB is optimized for CRT and not for Plasma, LCD, OLED HDTVs and monitors.

Btw. This is the only game so far that a such black crush issue on the Xbox One X.

This answers quite a bit for me. Cheers!

Seems they have still not done anything about it and I doubt they ever will.
