Missing ground texture (train escape moscow)
Hi,
So i wanted to do another run before DLC hit, and I encountered a bug during train escaping Moscow scene: there's no snowy ground when speaking to Anna, trees, grass, everything just float in the air...
As if ground geometry was missing, like the bug with the lighthouse which was patched
I checked on Youtube some gameplay video and there are a lot of people with the exact same bug...
I tried reinstalling the game, tried different saves, tried from beginning (in case save was corrupted), tried DX11/DX12, RTX on and off, DLSS on and off, I even tried some textures enhanced mods...
Nothing, the bug is still there and it really drives me mad...
I contacted 4A support... but nothing, they asked me to update my drivers and Windows, lol or that my save must be corrupted...
So if someone has a fix, it would be nice
Also if you have the same bug, let me know

The ground is heavily influenced by tessellation. Did you trying toggling that? What version/distro are you on?

What are your full system specs and game settings? Keep pushing their support for real assistance with their product.

I have been having the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ issue for months now. Tried messing with everything, even went back and tried toggling tessellation right now. No luck. For context, I'm playing at 1920*1080, high quality, half VSync, low motion blur, DX12, RTX off, Hairworks on, advanced PhysX on, tessellation on, AF16x, and shading rate 1.0. The game version is 1.0.0.5.

My PC specs are:
Ryzen 7 2700x at 4.0 Ghz
Asus Prime X470 Pro
16 Gb RAM at 3200 MHz
RTX 2070 OC with the latest drivers as of this post
500 Gb Samsung 840 Evo which I'm playing the game off

Also, I wouldn't hold onto any hope of actually getting help from the support guys. Considering that the support/bugs thread is 17 pages long and growing hourly with no feedback, it seems like there will be no hotfix. Hopefully the next DLC will drop with a patch to these issues. If not then I guess we're up ♥♥♥♥♥ creek as they say. Honestly, it's ironic how a Metro game, a series that has never given me issues, now runs worse than my botched together 100+ mod New Vegas or 120+ mod Fallout 4. How on earth do you even manage to go from running perfectly in the last patch to dropping the DLC and suddenly giving Bethesda a run for their money.

That's great, but now I make like 50-60 FPS using the same settings that used to get me 72 locked. And the stuttering has gotten worse.
