It costs less on Epic
I am a big fan of Steam and haven't bought a game from anywhere else in a lot of years. When I saw the announcement today that Exodus would be an Epic exclusive, I preoredered it on Steam (which I never do) to try to support them. Now I see it costs $10 less from Epic. Sorry Steam, I like this platform, but I am not paying more for the game just to have it in my library. Refund has been requested.

Some competition may do them some good after all...

It only costs less for Americans. For most of the world it actually costs more because Epic's store has really poor regional pricing.

Exactly.

I mean, we've all generally been able to find games cheaper than Steam for several years now. Outside of a Steam sale, your cheapest option is almost always going to be a key seller.

It may cost less in US, but does not apply other countries like EU, for instance.

I wouldn't be swayed by the lower pricing so easily. When games went digital when Valve created Steam, the first digital games retail store, people didn't like the idea of having games dependent on some digital client and an argument that was made by publishers for going digital is that doing so would save the developers and publishers a lot of money and so games would be cheaper for customers.

In reality, games didn't because cheaper for customers. Developers and publishers simply made a ton more money for themselves and customers continued to pay the same price.

The $10 cheaper on the Epic Games store could just be promotional, trying to make it appear advantageous to attract more developers to sell their games on their platform. Epic could be, and likely is, paying Deep Silver to sell the game at $10 cheaper there for the purpose of making a statement to other developers and publishers, to draw their business.

After drawing enough companies to the Epic platform, the price might go up to regular price. And since a lot of companies are greedy and will charge as much as they can, there's no way some of them would sell their games for $10 less on Epic's platform unless Epic was paying them to or forcing them to.

I wish people would read up more on the "cost less for customers" , we don't all live in the states.

Wasn't the game going to require Steam before this?
Yeah 60€ on Steam, 50€ or maybe with luck 45€ on Retail Store if it had been Steam and not Epic Store exclusive, or if it had to be digital i bet GMG would sell it with 20% off as well what had bean less then on Epic even if its 50 dollar there, the problem on steam is that they still didn´t learned that € are not $ and that in EU you have the right to import. (what means if I like to buy my Game in Alaska I can do that or If I like to buy it in China as well and so on.)

It should cost less on Epic, considering they have no community or something as simple as an achievement system.
