In reality, games didn't because cheaper for customers. Developers and publishers simply made a ton more money for themselves and customers continued to pay the same price.
The $10 cheaper on the Epic Games store could just be promotional, trying to make it appear advantageous to attract more developers to sell their games on their platform. Epic could be, and likely is, paying Deep Silver to sell the game at $10 cheaper there for the purpose of making a statement to other developers and publishers, to draw their business.
After drawing enough companies to the Epic platform, the price might go up to regular price. And since a lot of companies are greedy and will charge as much as they can, there's no way some of them would sell their games for $10 less on Epic's platform unless Epic was paying them to or forcing them to.
