They did lie, though. It's just not possible to change all the codes for all the retailers from Steam to Epic in less than five days and not knowing that it's going to happen beforehand.

Its been confirmed from the official metro account on twitter they are epic keys as shown above.

Yet 6 days ago they were saying that retail keys will be Steam keys. Do you really believe that they didn't know that they were moving all retail keys to Epic 6 days ago?

They also said the game was releasing on steam for the last year. They lied apparently.

Cancelled my pre order today the physical key for me at least was Epic ( I pre order metro exodus 2018 08 20 )
