Well, as much as I respect PC Gamer, they used Demo versus main game, which is not a good way to compare it. Not to mention they use i7 + GTX 1080 config, which is plenty powerful.
We used full games and ran them on a PC that barely, but could run it perfectly fine. Same scenes, same settings, same versions - denuvo version performed obviously worse. To the point where my friend uninstalled the game he bought and continued to play Denuvo free one.
Maybe it is not an issue on good and high end PCs, but I will trust my own results more than those from PC Gamer. Others can choose for themselves, but I advise anyone to wait until release to see benchmarks on different configurations, just to be sure it works fine on yours.
No one but the developers can tell you if Denuvo affects game performance as they can test the exact same versions and are able to isolate Denuvo. So I agree with you that the PC gamer test isn't going to be all that accurate but it's going to be a hell of a lot more accurate than anything you or I can do as the guy who did the benchmarks is a professional benchmarker and at least he doesn't appear to be biased like that Overlord Gaming guy.
Yeah, I agree that both my and their tests are trash and shouldn't be used like an evedence. That was exactly what I tried to show - people should wait for benchmarks to see if they get the performance they want, that what matters in the end.
Mentioned my experiment just to show that in some conditions results may be different.
Performance isn't even my primary concern. I want to know that my purchase will be playable in the scenario Denuvo shuts down. It's important to remind people that these are the same guys that created and abandoned SecuROM after only six years. Why in the hell should I trust them? Why in the hell should I trust Deep Silver when they haven't responded to the hundreds of posts asking whether or not they'll remove it after a period of time?
Will the game be locked out and not allow you to play after being disconnected from the internet after a few hours? I got locked out of Far Cry 5 and Sonic Mania (refunded, was a meh game) while playing them a couple hours each on the plane.
If you got locked out after a few hours it has nothing to do with Denuvo. There's a something else going on if you are being truthful.
Holy crap I didn't even know that, but I looked up wikipedia and whoomp there it is
Now that puts this on entirely new level.....
I'm my own boss Mr. Sorry to disappoint you.
I know only one thing, a Company is runs on ENDLESS LIES.
I have absolutely no connection to Denuvo. I'm a Software/Web developer living in the UK and I get paid a day rate from my clients. But do continue your fantasy.
But seeing as it's fantasy time, how much are GOG paying you to badmouth Denuvo?
