Will we see a return of "The Dark Ones"?.........

The Dark Ones played a signifigant role in the previous two games & helped form a great morality choice & story within the game. At the end of "Last Light" they went away but said they would return someday. It would be nice if the Dark Ones made an appearance in Exodus to help give the game a sence of authenticity & continuity.......

I think it would be cool to find them after they made their own Exodus from the Metro in LL... seeing as Exodus follows that ending, it could be possible. I'm doubting it but I love the idea.

I think not, if you dig deeper in the story, you find out that the dark ones were there even before the nukes hit, they where experiments of the goverment to find a way to survive after nuke have fallen. After the nukes did drop some of them awoke from their sleep.
So they are only in Moscow.

Except when they clearly leave the area after Last Light's good ending which is where Exodus starts.

I think Exodus will begin at the end of the Metro 2035 novel, which takes place after Last Light's good ending. And throughout this book there is never a appearance or mention of the Dark Ones. So the Dark Ones have had plenty of time to distance themselves from where ever the plot of Exodus will go.

Honestly, it would be easy for them to return since there was a year for them to do what ever. Besides, we have no idea where they went to so it is likely we'd come across a few.

Ofcourse we have ... or at least the people who have read the books have ...

The dark ones get nuked at the end of the first book and they are no more.

Last Light just like Metro 2034 - the second book - are side stories during the events in Metro 2033 - the book, while Metro Exodus continues the story of Artyom after Metro 2035.

If you want to follow the whole story - read Metro 2033 - then play the game and Last Light, then read Metro 2034, then Metro 2035 and then play Metro Exodus - you will be entertained for a year untill Exodus gets back to Steam ... :p

Dark ones left the metro and its surrounding areas in the Metro Last light's both endings, but as in this game Artyom is going to travel around Russia (and maybe other states), it would be interesting to encounter them somewhere, as it's possible...

I'll have to find it again but it was basically when that one 4A dev said that if people kept complaining about the whole Epic Store thing that the next Metro game would be console only
