I think I finally fixed it.

I actually uninstalled the latest entry (June 11 KB4503293)
Restarted, currently on the KB4497935 build and I can install and play Metro now.

Worth a shot maybe.

You saved my day

Awesome. Glad it's working for others too!

Hey just a heads up, I woke up this morning and it's no longer working again.
Game wont launch and others didn't download with that same message.
I went back and Updated windows again to the actual newest version (KB4503293) and it's fixed again.

So yeah.. there's a messed up workaround of constantly changing the windows version I guess, Leaving your PC on indefinitely might work also though to prevent that..

I disabled the windows insider program, you should do the same

I have an option there to Get Started and register for the Insider Program; I assume I am already not part of it with that in mind.
Good suggestion though.

I just really wish M$ would fix this sillyness on their end =(

I ended up resetting Windows in order to be able to install games from the new Xbox app beta.
That was a pain, but now it’s working fine.

Ended up doing the same thing, nothing else worked for me.

With my gaming pc for a while now what i have done is do a clean install of windows with formatted drive every time a major version update comes out.
It's just less of a headache that way imo rather than troubleshoot all the possible problems with windows and drivers possibly getting messed up by the update.

Was going to uninstall the update to try and fix this problem but for some reason for me the update KB4503293 doesn't have the uninstall button next to it as if it's not allowed to be uninstalled.
