To download you need the Xbox App and have to update Windows to version 1903.
Edit: If you've already done that then you have to somehow set your PC to the "main device" (or whatever they call it) for the Xbox Pass thing. It's a lot of fun navigating the menus trying to do that.
For me, I already had a device that wasn't my PC on their so I deleted it and then after that I somehow stumbled upon somewhere that I could set my PC as the "main device".
That's what mine did as well. The top three selections on the pause menu were greyed out and the auto save thing just said "saving..." without ever actually completing the save.
After a crash, boot the game on Safe Mode when prompted, then, in the options, mark the Advanced Physx checkbox. Quit the game, boot it up again and after the intros, it will apply your the changes. You can turn off Physx again if you want, but I could not make the game return to DX11 mode.
I know MS has had problems rolling out these six monthly updates for windows but they will need to get their act together with the MS store and gamepass as people will want things to just work out of the box.
I have been several issues with the game.
At first, I had install the game 3 times and neither of them has run correctly.
For the other side, the installation do strange things. One of them is, when I execute GeForce Xperience, in games section, showme two versions of Metro Exodus, one of them don't work (as always) and the otrer, when I clik, this redirect to me to Steam, very very rare.
I have to say, in my last installation, the game run for 4/5 secs until crash, but I don't know why the game worked in this time.
I hope, someone can helpme, thk.

there are no solutions, i downloaded and installed the game 3 times now and windows store show cannot launch app, something is wrong with the UWP implementation in this game, other games are working fine, so either they fix it or it just says like that and most probably they will not fix it since they dont care about windows store.
Thk for your comment. It's incredible, I have not words to describe my opinion about this amazing issue.
But, I have to say, in my last install (number 4 T_T) in the task notifications, it showme that the game was installed succefuslly and when I iniciate the game, this worked perfectly, but one houre more late I have to go, but when I cameback and I begun to iniciate the game again, it this doesn't work. I don't know what I should to think about this, very rare.
Thk again.

No, I have allready update my NVidia drivers, but I didn't know that could be a problem for the game. But, I think, the rest of my games, like GEARS 5, Horizon 4, and others, works perfectly.
Are you sure that could be the problem I have with the game? Not that I doubt your contribution, it would be less, but I find it strange because it only fails me with this game.
Thk, I will try to check evently.
