[FIX FOR PEOPLE OPENING THE GAME WITH WINRAR/7ZIP/ARCHIVERS]
It's... it's actually real simple. Since you can't change files in Winrar, drag it onto your desktop (or desired place), but DON'T EXTRACT.

Right click, 'Open With' > 'Choose Default Program' > 'Java (TM) Platform SE Binary'. Then simply place it place in the .rar file and it should sort itself out.

Should have been obvious in the beginning, but oh well... :pcry:

1. download the Java SE Development Kit from here http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/ (official website) for your verison of operational system.
2. go to *your location*\Steam\steamapps\common\Reveal The Deep copy the file named "rtd" and paste it to any other desired location.
3. only then rightclick the copied "rtd" and choose "open with...: Java(TM) Platform SE binary. The screen will flicker or turn form white to black several times but eventually be able to run the game.
Thanks to Chris the Super Hat Man.

Hi guys,

A huge thanks for working this out - it seems WinRAR overrides the Platform Binary in some cases. This is entirely my fault and I'm moving to produce a fix patch as soon as I can.

Thanks again

And thank you for giving a quick tutorial on installing 'Java(TM) Platform SE binary' :)

It's no problem, it's a fun game, and it's cheap. Everyone else seems to think so, too :)

Things happen. The JDK and steps above did not help in my case. Have 7zip on my system. Will wait for patch.
