Supported

Logitech: RS50, Pro Racing Wheel (DD11 base)
Thrustmaster: T98, T128, T150, T248, T598, TS-PC Racer, TS-XW, T-GTII, T818
Fanatec: ClubSport DD+, ClubSport DD
Moza: R3, R5, R9, R12

Supported, with notes

Turtle Beach VelocityOne and VelocityOne Race KD3: force feedback works, but you need the VelocityOne Tuner app installed, and support depends on the wheel's PC/Xbox mode.
Hori Apex: recognised, but this wheel has no force feedback motor, so you only get vibration.

The Turtle Beach Racer Wireless is not supported, as it's an Xbox controller-type device without force feedback.

🎙️ Developer Q&A with Eden Games

Game Director Benoît Gomes from Eden Games sat down with Alex VII to talk about the console and PC launch.

What did PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC unlock? 4K at 60 fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X, 60 fps on Xbox Series S, and real-time path tracing in the car dealers and garage. A Steam Deck version is going through Valve's certification.

How did you bring the love of Japanese car culture into the game? The game is set half in Japan and half in France. JDM classics like the R33, RX-7 and S15 are all customisable, and there's a Japanese highway at night with nods to street-racing culture.

\

[/p]

What is Highway Rush?A brand-new mode for the series, on two highways: Japan by night and France. You can set the traffic from open road to maximum, and play solo or in 2-player co-op.

What's the story behind Infinite Drive? It started as an internal tool for testing the game: endless highway driving with no pressure and no objectives. The whole studio kept playing it, so it stayed in.

Why is split screen essential for Gear.Club?

Most games are more fun with friends, so split screen is in multiple modes, not just Highway Rush. For competitive players, there are online leaderboards.

Any final message for racing fans?

It's not just a port of the Switch 2 version. It adds achievements, ultra-wide support, online leaderboards, and steering wheel and pedal support, with 6 months of patches included at launch. 🏁 Release week is here

Gear.Club Unlimited 3 arrives on Steam this Thursday, 8 October.

After more than 22 million players across the series, the third instalment is the most ambitious yet, and this is its first appearance on PC.

🗾 Two very different roads

For the first time in the series, you race in Japan as well as along the French Mediterranean coast. Your mission in Japan is to open the country's very first Gear.Club: recruit local drivers, build a team of mechanics and engineers, and find your place in an automotive culture unlike any other in the series.
🛣️ Over 50 tracks across the two regions, from coastal switchbacks to mountain roads.

🚗 Over 40 cars, built your way

Officially licensed vehicles from the biggest manufacturers, customised down to the detail:

This game is a stutter fest no matter what hardware you have (Steam Deck owners, keep reading). Your CPU and GPU just stand around idle while the game chokes on itself and tanks performance, I'm talking stutters down to 11fps constantly.

Examining my logs, it looks like the game has abysmal garbage collection: When it's time to unload objects (trees, props, scenery, etc.) after you move outside of a playable "chunk", it executes "Resources.UnloadUnusedAssets" which freezes the game for dozens of milliseconds to scan over 200,000 objects to decide which ones to unload, resulting in massive stutter and terrible framepacing. This of course happens constantly because you're flying down the track at high speed.

The good news is Steam Deck doesn't suffer from this problem: Gamescope smooths out internal framepacing issues by deferring to the display, so even if the internal framepacing is spazzing out between 19ms-50ms, the compositor delays early frames/waits for late frames and flips them at a steady 25ms if you lock the game to 40FPS/40Hz in the Quick Access Menu, which the game can achieve pretty consistently with default settings (Low, XeSS Balanced).

On PC, the only way you can fix this is to overcome the stutters with powerful hardware so a VRR display can maintain lock and smooth out the frames; unless you have both of those, you're boned. Anything less results in nauseating, unplayable judder.

I've really tried with Eden Games, but these guys just can't figure out how to make good PC ports: It's very obvious this was a Switch 2 project first, then multiplatform second with all the scalability issues that entails. This problem existed in their last game GCU2 and they never fixed it, so unless you have a killer PC and VRR display, I wouldn't bother.

Why is it always a stuttering mess when Nacon is involved, even when they're only the publisher this time around? Surprisingly, the game is actually quite fun. The handling is somewhat good, the cars look great, and the path tracing and lighting are really nice.

The only problem is it runs like ♥♥♥♥ in DLAA. Switch to Quality and it's somewhat okay, at least until you hit bright neon lights or get on a bigger map. Every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game Nacon touches seems to play like this, I really need to learn my lesson. Tbh, V-Rally 4 and WRC run quite well, but the rest never really do. They nail the driving feel in most games I will give them credit for that. not sure if they are just funding or actively helping, but the performance issues are the same across most of their racing games.

Works terrible even with 90-120FPS. Stuttering, framedrops, terrible framepacing. When I lock it to 60FPS, performance drops to 50-54 with 25% CPU and 40% GPU usage. Pathetic.

Game is mid at best.

Steam Deck impressions

I'm not going to bother to try the game on my PC because i would only want to play this on a handheld. Tried it on the Deck and it runs very bad. On the lowest preset with XESS or FSR Balanced it looks pretty bad but it also runs very choppy. It shows stable 40fps but it does not run at 40fps. It stutters, it's choppy and it's not playable in that state. Seen in reviews that on PC, it also sucks. But if you're here for the Steam Deck or other handhelds, do not bother buying it. It's not on Geforce Now ...
