Codename Panzers: Phase Three (Mod for Two)

Hi--before I buy, would be great to know whether the Steam version is compatible with the Phase Three mod available at http://panzers.ucoz.com/

The mod looks like a nice set of graphical upgrades, extra units and skins, along with additional missions. Anyone tried it out? I dug through their forums (still active but not very) and haven't seen any posts about the Steam release of Phases I + II.

My concern mostly relates to the Starforce protection scheme I assume Steam removed, as I believe the Phase Three mod does include some sort of check to make sure it is only being used with legit copies of the base game.
