Bei Win 10 (64 bit) in Einstellungen - Netzwerk und Internet - Windows-Fireball - Erweiterte Einstellungen - Ausgehende Regeln (li.) - Bei Aktionen (re.) - Neue Regel (re.) - Programm - Weiter - Dieser Programmpfad - durchsuchen:
C:/Programme (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Codename Panzers Cold War/Home/Game/CPCW.exe
Öffnen - weiter - Verbindung blockieren - weiter - (Hacken gesetzt bei Domäne / Privat / öffentlich) - weiter - Name vergeben (optional) - Fertig stellen.
Oder die Internetverbindung beim Start trennen z.B. Netzwerkkabel vom PC abklemmen oder Router ausschalten.
No porblems at all. Even intro video works (i have k-lite codec pack).
in my experience best thing that works is an older laptop with older version of windoes. you can find older laptops for real cheap or make a desktop that runs with older version of everything. run steam from there and should be fine. emulators would work but starting these games from steam will nullify the emulators.
You don't need any of that. It works just fine on modern machines with the latest OS's. The problem, I would imagine, is that some people don't have the correct software thats required for the game to run installed. Also, not only the version released on Steam works fine on my Windows 8.1, my old box versions of the game that I bought many years ago works on Windows 8.1.
But for some reason Cold War Still has old Atari stuff and GameSpy is still not replaced to something else in the Steam release... Any comments on that maybe?

Looks like starforce protction window.
Do you have SATA DVD drive or IDE?
Starforce soemtimes dont like SATA.
Use no-cd
