If you run into any problems with the game, here are some steps to try:

• Let us know! Post a message to this forum.
  
• Include your OS version and hardware specs, and describe what happens in as much detail as possible.
  
• Subscribe to the beta branch to get the latest updates. To do that, right-click the game in Steam, select Properties -> Betas.

We may ask you to send in some log files to help us figure out the problem. To do that:

• Windows: start a file browser, click the address bar at the top, and type in %LOCALAPPDATA%\inkle\Sorcery
  
• Mac: in the Finder, select Go -> Go to Folder… and type in ~/Library/Application Support/inkle/Sorcery
  
• That will open the folder with Sorcery's internal log files and settings. Email those files to us at [e-mail].
  
• Make sure you include your Steam username so we know who you are!

could be, but it doesn't account for the crashing before the game even starts. Also, my old save file is no longer on my pc.

Saves are stored in a cloud, though i think you need to manually type cloud code for that to work.

Actually i think prologue text were always like that, the character is dreaming about reaching the Crown. Maybe your memory is fuzzy?

My mind is indeed fuzzy. Just now I've tried again, making the game window as small as possible. This seemed to let me continue a bit further, beyond the prologue text (indeed I found the flavor text unchanged from the original) but going to the map, the screen had a freezed overlay of the previous gender selection, making the game unplayable. after closing the game and restarting, the old problems returned and stay persistent untill now... still not solved.

POSSIBLE FIX

So at first the game wouldnt start, I tried updating my drivers, reinstall visual studios and was even at the point of reinstalling windows.
Just before I was about to uninstall I saw the steam overlay. I disabled that and then started the game as administrator from within the local files and low and behold the game started.

Hi. I've been playing through the whole series (I'm somewhere in part 3 atm), but I decided that I'd like to restart a new game to cause as much grief and destruction as I possibly can on this run. However whenever I access the 'Sorcery! Part 1 & 2', it will only bring me to the beginning of part 2, with no way to access the menu. I was wondering if this was a bug, or if there's something I'm overlooking. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Right, so I know I am quite late to the party, but just in these days I wanted to do a new run to see if I can finally arrive at Mampang without being completely crippled.

I am playing on Linux: the game starts and works, it has downloaded some updates, but then there's this weird graphic bug that cuts and mirrors lots of images (e.g. the characters to be selected in the beginning look similar to mirrored court cards, the scores in the upper left corner are messed up...) and what is written on screen. This does not happen for other Steam games.

Anyone using Linux and having issues?

When I launch the game the screen has green bars across it this issue is helped slightly when I reduce the window size but the game is still discolored and the text is illegible

Minor issue, but I seem to be unable to check the details of my spirit animal (I originally played the kindle version of the game and so recall clicking the icon led to some helpful details on what the animal represented, etc)

Swindlestones has a bug when the adversary will bet a number of dice (like 1 of 1) and when the result is different (2 of 1) the game says that he won. I have a screenshot to prove it, where can I sent it?
