Mod Help

i've tried to install the Vanilla, chocolate and tropical mods, but i get insert cd warning.

anyone know how to play them on steam?

Those mods were made on the retail exe which has the cd check
and overwrites your Steam exe when you instal
There are some helpful threads on the Gog Moo forums about getting around that
I'm using the Bhruic patches applied to the GoG exe so no cd issues

Apply the patch, then WINDASM and 9090 the JNE.

i've actually got it to start by keeping the steam.exe and patching it, should have thought of that first :p

That is the best method
Apply the patches yourself to the Steam exe

Wait, how do I apply the patches to steam itself? Sorry for being confused.

first download the mod
then copy everything in except the moo3.exe
then run the patcher

Ok, ran into a problem: "DirectX Surface unavailable."

Showed up when resolving space battles between turns. Think it's the TF mod?

The only patches I used were the Bhruic ones

I dont trust the Tropical and Chocolate series
The graphics in those mods did not work for me
the planet screen didnt function properly

I have a game going at the moment and so far no issues
I set compatibility to XP service pack 2

Ok just getting into the moding game. need a good zip extracter to free up the spreadsheets. also when running the Moo3 patcher is that where i select the Steam.exe?

I use 7-zip

Unpack the patcher and the dll file and the patches into a holding folder...
just to keep them all together
Then copy and paste the lot from that folder into your Steam Moo3 folder
Then run the patcher
It will find the patches and then you can instal them one at a time
There is info about each patch shown in the patcher interface
so you can decide to install it or not

All the instructions are detailed on the Bhruic page
read them
do not go blind into this
Due diligence is necessary
read the instructions

Thank you. already have the Mods selected and in a holding file for the steam folder. played the ♥♥♥♥ out of MOO2 but always wanted a better play out of Moo3.
