Master of Orion 1

Master of Orion 1

100m or MoO1 ?
Having seen the extensive list of quite serious bugs that are fixed by 100m - is there any point playing the 1.3 unpatched version?

I dunno is there any point in playing the 1oom version when Remnants of the Precursors exists? :P Just pick your poison.
Yes that was my conclusion too.

Most 1oom fixes deal with 1oom's own bugs. You should definitely try MOO v1.3 if you want to be able to compare.
BTW 1oom vanilla is in development and close to release. Most of the innovations are already implemented as options that can be enabled on demand. 1oom-fork 1.8 will be based on this project and may even be completely absorbed.
You can post bugs and suggestions here https://github.com/1oom-fork/1oom/issues
Enjoy your choice, you and only you know what you really want.

Anyone know how to turn off the fleet number for 100m? I find this UI change to be annoying and not terribly useful. I mean, the original game already included it on the Spec screen, there's no need to know this number on the main screen. It wouldn't be so annoying if the fleet number wasn't overwriting the original number position, and it was a different color. If you're going to have the fleet number there it should be in the top right corner of the ship frame, not the lower right corner. I mean, use some sense here, come on man. :steamfacepalm: Lol

Update: I checked out the fork, and it fixes this gripe. Very good. :D

I've made do with Kyrub's old 1.40m version for years just fine. Is either that or 1oom playable on steam's moo?

I have 100m running, but it's in a tiny window. I tried launching it via command line: 1oom_classic_sdl2.exe -window per the readme, but that doesn't change anything. Fullscreen works fine, but it's clunky when you're multitasking (I play when work is slow).
Any suggestions?

Edit: I'm using fork-v1.7.6

Hi.
1) You can try to delete config file (check the path in logs)
2) You can try to set custom win_w / win_h in cfg
3) You can wait for v1.8.0 or vanilla release (few months)
Config file is usually 1oom_config_game_classic_sdl2.txt

Thanks. It seems that the config file is recreated with each launch. I had made edits to it and was puzzled when I didn't see the changes. It took 3 times before I figured it out, guess I'm a slow learner! :)

It is recommended to delete the old configuration file before starting
