Reina Ryūgū's name
Ever since the one of the Scrapbook tips about the name of the demon engraved in the Three Families' names, I've been wondering about something: If Mion can turn into this demon she has turned in the Onikakushi chapter and in this chapter, what about Rena?
In the first chapter, Rena was pretty much the first one to go crazy and violent, along with Mion. Could her name in Kanji be engraved with the demon's name? I'm no Japanese but I tried to find if maybe there's something about it. Now, I don't know if it's a lot but it's something, I thought you might be interested:

Ryūgū Reina - 竜宮 礼奈
Demon - 鬼

What do you think? There's got to be a connection ):
Do you know any other suggestions, or translations?

Interesting. But I'm not seeing it. It's definitely not a literal part of those kanji, unlike the cases cited in the scrapbook. And although I'm certainly no expert, I don't see any way you could rearrange them to get 鬼. Some of the strokes are there in 竜 ryū (dragon). But AFAIK, dragons are considered very noble, for instance, representing emperors. Quite unlike demons. The whole name Ryūgū means "dragon palace".

Just an update. From what I read, Rena's name and appearance were inspired by Princess Lenna Tycoon from Final Fantasy V. See "Trivia" section on When They Cry wiki[whentheycry.wikia.com]. The surname may refer to Lenna's father, who rides a dragon.

Incidentally, the name Ryukishi07 is based on Final Fantasy as well[en.wikipedia.org]. Ryūkishi meaning "dragon knight", and 07 being read as "rei na", referring to Lenna again.
