is the game too easy?
I've seen many reviewers state that the game is way too easy, any truth to this? I've only played for about an hour so I can say its extremely easy so far but thats to be expected in the beginning...does the game get harder? I don't like cake-walks and I'm thinking about refunding the game for concerns over difficulty. I almost feel like I'd maybe be happier with the new Berserk game because it has actual difficulty settings.

It depends...
Some maps are harder while others are easier. Same goes for side quests.
It also depends on player levels.

RPG rules, difficulty is pretty much proportional to the level of your characters. Some of the characters also seem easier to use then others.

The game is pretty easy starting out. the three robot killers was probably the first section I thought was challenging. Although I forgot to unlock zap so that might have been the problem.
Looking at the reviews a lot of the complainers have fewer than 4 hours on record.

Late in game it can gets a bit tough and frantic. You have to defend a place or person while the game threw a lot of huge monsters at you.

Thanks for the replies, without a difficulty setting I went ahead and refunded. It didn't hold my inetrest as it was just too easy. Hopefully they'll add a difficulty setting for DQH2.

o.o end game veteran bosses and hidden special bosses can be tough as ♥♥♥♥ , but yeah other than that game is quite easy and tedious too

It is pretty easy even for a musou game but some of the optional bosses are really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ strong. Psaro is an entirely optional boss but he is not a pushover. His second stage gives him ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ levels of speed and his combos one hit kill if you get hit by him at that stage. He also gets two teleporting suits of armor that take almost no damage and have two hit kills (at level 40). He's also tanky as all hell with around probably 30k health and he has no stuns/interrupts you can pull on him. I would honestly compare him to Knight Artorias from Dark Souls except Knight Artorias isn't a tank and he didn't have any ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ teleporting adds. In fact, I would say he's harder than him because of that. Could be I just really suck but I died less on Dark Souls to S&M than I did to this ass in this game. But yeah, besides him though none of the main bosses were particularly difficult though you can't just "button mash" all of them like some people claim.

It's just a shame they couldn't have added in difficulty levels in this game. I bought Berserk and it's fantastic and challeging considering there is different difficulty options.

The combat is pretty easy. Some maps require planning and strategy and if you don't defend the right spots at the right times you'll have to replay the entire mission which is slightly annoying.

you mean cheap not strong. strong would say he has good ai but his knights insta killing as he targets you with beloatedly strong attacks so you cant cast anything is called cheap. when a game uses inta kills for anything its them trying to artificially make something "hard".
p.s. i did beat him so i'm not crying before anyone gets on their high horse.

the thing that makes the other battles hard is your forced to actually use the monster meddles strategicaly as once some of the bigger guys get on the "protect this target" target they won't pull off and will pummel it.

True. Doesn't stop him from being hard though which is the point of the thread. Also, most optional bosses in games can be pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ from what I've played (besides Dark Souls as most of them are surprisngly easy).

but that's also part of the issue with this game. when a game goes from easy to insainly hard it shows they don't know how to balance fights. the only reason most battles are even lost isn't do to you dieing but because the unmovable object you need to protect gets swarmed. yes, that's the game and i except that but when your only dealing with a boss you need a gimmick and for him they opted for 1hit deaths over thinking of something better.
cheap fights are not "fun" it just feels like your being cheated out of a win. like playing a online fps and someone on the server is useing a wall hack. you can kill him but is being on that server fun with him there?
optional bosses are truly there to test the better players but cheap is still cheap even if you like the fight. i mean meatboy is cheap but some people find that fun :beatmeat:

yes like all the last weapons but i do think they want you to not have them till the second playthrough.

It shouldn't matter if it is easy or not. What should matter is that you ENJOY the game!

It does matter if its easy or not, if a game is easy it is not fun to me, hence why I refunded, I like games that can be challenging, or at least have difficulty options, not a breeze to play. Most games like this, that are too easy, are made for children, I am not a child...even Mario for the NES was challenging, I expect challenge in every game I play.
