How does this compare to Kudos Rock Legend?
I've been looking for a good band simulator game for a while now, with the last one I enjoyed being Positech's Kudos Rock Legend.

How does this game compare?

the music in this is WAY better.

that being said, i enjoyed kudos more.

this game is an alrite tycoon game tho, dont pass it up if you are at all interested.

there are too many clicks to travel. beware your mouse

the actual management i believe is better in this game.

Honestly, I'm more interested in the building a band, writing songs, recording albums and touring aspect than I am in the managing a band aspect. How do those compare between those two games?

you only get 4 members

you can actually make a living just writing and selling songs.

the recording aspect is actually better imho. the first time i played i made the bulk of my money off of recording.

the touring aspect really falls short. in order to make any money touring you have to have around a thousand local fans, and the quickest way to do that is just to hang out in the city for a long while, busking and letting your promotions do their work. this would be awesome, except there are a crapton of cities, and as soon as you hit a thousand fans in a city, 2 other, bigger cities have opened up.

tldr. touring takes FOREVER to make money off of and the number of clicks it requires is just not worth it. too bad, because it was almost freakin awesome.

edit

hit and miss. i am glad i played both games. thanks:)

So, do you enjoy this more than Rock Legend now?

I'm trying my best to get into Rock God Tycoon. I'll give it another shot, but I can't get my band off the ground and making money yet, even by following the advice in the walkthroughs and playing on Easy. In Kudos Rock Legend it's also tough to get a band off the ground, but once you have, it becomes easier and a lot more fun. and satisfying.

I just find Rock God Tycoon to be way too difficult.

Hey,

it took me 2 days to figure this out. First get a member with good writing skills. In the beginning use all of your members to do busk. Save the money. Your Band Leader needs to have the highest tension of your band. Use some cheeseburgers to get the others lower. After that it will always reset the tension once your leader hits the limit. You don't have to keep the tension down by yourself. If you raise the skills of your members, they will demand more money. Due to that, keep them at minimum in the beginning.
Let your Songwriter Guy write your first songs. Do rehearsels until you hit 20%, record your songs, record videos. THEN sign your first record deal and don't take any upfront money. Do the 2 gigs in the city they want. Let the songwriter train writing and the other members do busk. At this point you learned the mechanics. Get ready for another record deal signing and do it the same way. You can start to train your leader after the first payday. Observe your money count. You can do some training with your other members too. But be carefull. They will demand higher pay. If you got a member who is constanty wanting more money and already hit the wages of the others multiple times, get rid of that gold digger. Use 10k budget to get a replacement=improvement. Again.. take a member with high writing skills. This will be your new songwriter. ;)

Important: Get at least 1 Friendmagnet!
A member with a day job helps in the beginning, but isn't that important, if you're willing to do a lot busking to start.

Have fun! ;)
