The only way to write better songs is to improve the songwriting skill. You do that either by just having your members write songs, or by practicing the skill itself, the former method being highly recommended.
As you get better at it, and as you get access to higher rated facilities by opening new cities, your albums will sell better and will aquire more fans for you. Better record companies mean better quality albums, better recording studios mean faster practice times and higher rated recordings. However, doing business with advanced facilities is also more expensive.
