Game won't start

Hey guys,
I got the game yesterday for 6€ since I enjoyed the first two parts a longer time ago. So I downloaded it and wanted to play it now, but on the startup it won't load, the exe just starts for like 5 seconds. I already tried checking the game files, it downloaded 12MB but it still doesnt work. I also tried to disable Microsoft Security Essentials, but it doesn't work neither. Also it creates no logfile I could show you. The exe is validated digitally by Valve, so this ain't the problem too.
I'm running on Win7 32bit, AMD Athlon II X2 240, AMD Radeon HD5750, 4GB RAM.

Try manually running Dxsetup.exe from the \Steam\steamapps\common\serious sam 3\Redist\DirectX\ folder

Try going to the Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Event Viewer and see what error message it is listing under Windows Logs->Application.

I deleted my whole Steam folder except SteamApps and repaired the Steam installation with the latest Steam version. Then I checked the gamefiles a last time and now it works :)
