Game won't start

Hi there! I've just bought this game, cause it was on sale, sa you know. After installing it, and pressing "Play", a window appears, and asks if I want to play SS 3 BFE, or the moddable one. Selecting the first, and hitting the play, another window appears, saying something like: "performing first time setup", and after that the first window appears again, I press the Play again, but the game won't start, just an error window pop-up, saying: Failed to start game (app already running) and a link, with a solution, but that doesn't work for me.
I've also reinstalled the DirectX from SS 3 folder, and NVidia driver is freshly installed too. I've tried reinstalling the game, but didn't work that either.
If someone has some solution, I would appreciate them. Thanks!

Try closing it in your task manager.

I have a different problem. The game loads only in survival mode where I last less than 2 minutes. Every time I choose campaign, the level loads to completion and then I get an error stating level can't be loaded. I even took a screen shot.

marsenal, please try what nertlespeed said. Also try rebooting the computer, in case some other process/driver update is stuck. If that doesn't help, please see if you have Sam3.log on disk (see FAQ for the location).

I've checked it, and when I press play, the "Sam.exe" appears for 1-2 secs, sometimes it's not even in the task manager, so basically I don't have anything to close in the task manager. I've also looked for the Sam3.log, but I have no Log folder in the SS3 folder. I will try reinstalling it now to the default suggested folder, and see if anything changes.

Okay guys, I've reinstalled it to the default folder, and now it works...Anyway, thanks for the suggestions!
