Simply amazing. AlenL, Den, could you say something more about this project?

Oh and the serious sam games work pretty well also!
Will be easy to do 60+ fps in them on cherry-trail.

Talos is adaptable for very nice touch interface, and that's why it will be released first, as it will be a great fit for the Shield Note tablet. Sam won't be released for Android until some devices that have gamepad by default are released.
Well, AlenL, yesterday Nvidia announced the Shield Console with Tegra X1 and it's shipping with gamepad by default :)

I saw that presentation, but I was talking about Serious Sam 3.

AlenL, will you release Serious Sam 3 for Nvidia Shield Console?
AlenL Mar 12, 2015 @ 3:15am
Absolutely. :)

That would be great! :) But what about Shield Tablet? Will it work on Tegra K1 as well?
AlenL Mar 13, 2015 @ 12:47am
I haven't tried SS3 on Shield Tablet yet. It probably could work, as it worked on prototype hw, but there's an important issue there. It is unplayable without a gamepad. That's why the Shield TV (or whatever it should be called), will probably be the main platform for it. Talos, on the other hand has very nice touch controls and it will work on the tablet as well.

I have a feeling that mobile devices are gonna overtake consoles within the next few years. New devices come out every other week and especially with phones, people can can upgrade after 2 years and not be locked into a "10 year cycle" like consoles.

Technology man........Its evolving faster than I can keep up with

I think fans of Serious Sam 3 won't care about lack of touch controls(Half-Life 2 also doesn't have touch countrols, for example). But they definitely will want to play Serious Sam 3 on their tablet.

So, Talos will be available to purchase on Shield Tablet? Because Nvidia says that Talos available only for Shield Console. http://shield.nvidia.com/games/android/talos

And, btw, is there any approximate release date for Talos and Serious Sam 3?
AlenL Mar 14, 2015 @ 5:04pm
I'll ask around about that page. Thanks for the headsup. I cannot say anything about release dates yet, sorry. You know those things are always reserved for the PR to have their time spilling those beans out. ;) I can only tell you which platforms I tried a game on - though even that doesn't mean marketing/business will decide to release it on those platforms for various strange reasons. But so far, it seems that Talos and Sam3 will definitely be on some of the Shields. Talos for once, as that "coming soon" page is probably not there for nothing. ;)
Btw, the portable is the only problem right now, as it is Tegra4 GPU, which is too slow to run it without us doing severe work on the content, which probably doesn't make sense. It probably won't be supported for a while. Tablet is K1 and console is X1, which are both great chips, and especially the X1. That _beast_ is better than my machine at home. On the demo stations, it ran Talos in 1080p without any upsampling. That's just _amazing_, for a $200 machine. :)

The tablet can use the same controller as the upcoming console. In fact, one of its primary uses is streaming PC games to a TV while using the controller from the couch.
looking at this just made me think that Serious Sam gameplay is awesome for short bursts on a go. But as twitch shooter, there should be physical controls or it'd lose most of it's charm. Hell, I'd bought Serious Sam Revolution for Vita and played the crap out of it - I can't stand touchscreen gaming or those crappy controllers for phones with those studs and stuff (or having controller in a pocket), and steamboy isn't even a thing (hopefully yet). Probably could be even profitable release. Oh, well, SSR isn't even released yet. Well, man can dream.
At least Nvidia are putting money in their stuff... still not going anywhere with their devices, but they don't stop pouring money into their support. That's one dedication. They are trying to find something new, maybe some stuff will eventually work.

In the end of the day it's simply this.
You can play PC games on a 2 year old baytrail -200 dollar tablet.
Heres looking forward to Cherrytrail.

Annnnd noothiiing elllssse matttteers!
