That giant pink scorpion DRM.
Clearly, as anyone who looks through my profile can see, I own a copy of this game. I've only ever seen this brilliant DRM in videos, never in person. So, I have a few questions about it. First off, is there a way to intentionally activate this in a legit copy of the game? Secondly, if the scorpion is active, is there any point in the game where it makes it truly impossible - not just very difficult - to beat the game?

I ask this because a friend of mine was recently discussing the Bucky O'Hare NES video game, which included its own copy protection. If the game detected that it was pirated, it would activate an extreme difficulty. Despite having a life gauge, any hit of any danger source would kill you. Players with legal copies of the game could activate this mode via a password. Anymore, this has become a challenge mode of sorts for people to play and compete with.

I was reminded of the copy protection in this game, and wondering if the same could be true of it Personally, I would love to see the skill and dedication involved in actually trying to complete the game with this DRM mode activated. So.. is it possible? Or are there points where the addition of this invincible monster makes the game literally unbeatable, no matter HOW skilled or lucky you are?

Well, there's a mod that tries to "emulate" it, at least.

They piss me off :coolsam:
I assumed it become impossible because it couldn't be killed?

But maybe it just become really hard?
