Any info drops coming soon, and is the ETA going to be this year or later?
Any word on if Vulkan is going to be used for the renderer, or are you going to use OpenGL or D3D+OpenGL again?
I'd hope focus could be put into Vulkan, otherwise into just OpenGL. Either way, great OpenGL performance in Talos Principal!
Awesome news, thanks for the info! I've shared it with the Linux gaming community.
Would be great if SS4 was dropping this year but if it must be next year or later then so be it. :3
Yeah I just moved to Linux Mint 17.3 MATE here and I'm so happy I can still play at least Serious Sam BFE and with better performance on here than windows actually to my surprise. Hope to see the new one being able to be played easily on linux too.
Will we ever see support for the HD games on linux though? Or are they at least playable through Wine right now smoothly?
They said they were wanting to port them if they had some free time to do so, but since Croteam is a smaller team which delivers fairly large titles, I wouldn't be surprised if they never had "free time".
Perhaps at this point the best we could hope for are remastered Serious Sam games on their newest Vulkan-powered Serious Engine. That would be cool!
Yeah I'm not even sure what's involved with prting them like that or what has to be done, I'm no developer. I sure hope they do that again though, would be prett sweet to see done. I'm addicted to the first encounter, it was just such a fun FPS I could play through again and again and always enjoy.
