I am using no mods or trainers whatsoever. I bought the game on steam, I don't know how to prove it but I did. Reinstalling did not work.

hello,

maybe some overlay, or FPS-limiter, or grabber, or broadcast software? anything that could potentially inject itself into the game and make it thinking that you are trying to hack it?

because that immortal scorpion, as was told above, is copyright- and anti-cheat protection. game spawns it when it finds that some DLLs were injected or original EXE files were modified

Mouse icon to the right of user's name shows that you indeed own the game.

How do I "buy a license" like the other user said? I just want to play the game. Funny thing is, this didn't happen a year back when I was playing with my friend.

I disabled nvidias overlay and closed all other apps but it still happens. Ill try installing it on my laptop later today and see if the monster spawns. Thanks for your help :)

I have checked some other threads, looks like other people have that issue too with no clear way of solution. some say that reinstalling the game on a different drive worked, some say need to reset configuration, others say that reinstalling Steam helped them, etc - it is mess

I still tend to think that some software (maybe Windows related?) hijacks the game, but it is just a wild-guessing

Hmm, sucks that someone who bought the game has to deal with issues like pirates. I'm going to try pirating the game and playing to see if it fixes it. Thanks for your help once again :)

This version of the game is a bit old and lots of things happened in the meanwhile. I recommend you to try the Fusion version which should have less problems, especially on Windows 10 and newer hardware.

Anti-piracy for you. Only hurts consumers, never even remotely affects the pirates. They are too smart for developers to mess with really.

This happened to me in 2010 with Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands where the doors didn't open and I couldn't proceed. I bought the game day one but had to resort to cracking my copy to beat it. But yeah I agree.
