maybe some overlay, or FPS-limiter, or grabber, or broadcast software? anything that could potentially inject itself into the game and make it thinking that you are trying to hack it?
because that immortal scorpion, as was told above, is copyright- and anti-cheat protection. game spawns it when it finds that some DLLs were injected or original EXE files were modified
I still tend to think that some software (maybe Windows related?) hijacks the game, but it is just a wild-guessing
