Right,so I bought this just today and it starts up,gets to the splash screen and then just says SeriousSam.exe has stopped working.Could I get some help?

We would need its log file and if present the .rpt file (the latter is in the Bin folder, iirc).

WIth WindowsExplorer, go to the folder: "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Serious Sam Classic The First Encounter"
There should be be a file named SeriousSam.log . Right-click on it, and choose "Open with..." then pick NotePad. Select all, Copy, then paste here. If it doesn't fit, paste it to http://pastebin.com and paste the link here.

Ah, yeah second encounter. Sorry, a typo on my side.

This looks like you either don't have latest drivers for your graphics board (GPU) installed, or something else is wrong there. Possibly DirectX is not installed correctly?

Is there a SeriousSam.rpt file in the Bin folder there?

Ah, so it crashes in ATI's (AMD's) OpenGL driver. Perhaps you should first try installing the latest driver for your graphics board. You can get them from here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx
