game running INCREDIBLY slow and choppy

Hey everyone. Suffice to say, my PC is well above the minimum requirements to run the game -- but for whatever reason, every time I try and load up "The Second Encounter", the game runs unbearably slowly.

I also have "SS Classic: TFE" which runs just about flawlessly, so this is kinda blowing my mind. Nothing I (paiiinfullllyyyy) alter in the in-game menus, nor in the executable's preferences, seems to fix this.

Now, full disclosure, this is NOT a huge deal -- since I have the HD remakes... but I also wanted to be able to check out the original version!

Any and all advice / help / suggestions would be MUCH appreciated! Thanks in advance! :)

If you find this thread old enough now - you can ignore it.
I don't really know what could cause the stuttering issue, but have you adjusted graphics settings, put any mods into the game? Also I'd like to recommend to set Vista SP2 compatibility mode for SeriousSam.exe, at least it solved my issue with crashes when saving
