Disable Chaperone?

If you're sitting at your desk chaperon always turns on. Do you have to fully turn it off? Games like Elite Dangerous disable chaperon which is smart. I have to scoot my chair to the middle of the room which is really annoying.

Is there an option to turn this off for seated games like this?

Yeah, we are aware of chaperone sometimes interfering with the game. We are looking into having it disabled in the future updates of the game here on Steam.

While we are looking into it, we would like to also suggest to play around with the seated position setting with Steam VR and Vive. It should be possible to set the seated position at the desk without this feature interfering once that setup is done.

Where are these seated position settings in SteamVR?

The setting can be found here:

1. Right click on SteamVR tool and select Settings. (in your Library)
2. Under ‘Developer’ option, there is a option ‘Room and Tracking’ -> 'Standing Space'
3. Please note when you are setting this, Vive and the controllers should be on the floor, and then click ‘Quick Calibrate’. You can do this in any time.
