Hello, I have also successfully applied the Xbox360Controller.gro file and it works perfectly for my xbox 360 controllers however my logitech dual action controller does not operate as my xbox 360 controllers do.

I can only move with the D-Pad and my left analog stick only swaps weapons, while my right analog stick, only lets me look up and down but not left and right

Is there a solution for this problem I am having?

If your controller has an XInput-compatible mode (sometimes a switch on the bottom of the controller), then it might work with those settings. Otherwise, each of the 3rd party controllers have different layouts in legacy mode and you would need to set it up manually. You can do that in the configuration menu. It is advanced and takes some time, but it is possible.

Alternatively, you can try playing the Revolution version (which you got for free with your game). That has built-in support for XInput controllers. Though, again, if your controller is not XInput-capable, then there's no good solution, except configuring it manually, as for pre-XInput devices there was no good standard for what is bound to what.

Dude you're in luck. Wife got craving for some co-op split screen shooter action today and I remembered I had the two Serious Sam games. The wiki has been archived a long time ago and it just redirects to SS4's steam page right now, however using the Wayback Machine (https://archive.org/web/) I managed to get to the file! :) Here are the instructions:

In order to be able to play Serious Sam Classic (either First or Second Encounter) with a joystick or gamepad, one needs to load proper configuration for the current player in the "Options>Players and Controls>Customize Controls>Load Predefined Settings" menu.

The game comes with predefined settings for a few joysticks and gamepads that were the most used at the time the game shipped. Today, Xbox360-compatible gamepads are used in most cases, but they need a separate configuration. To resolve this problem, download this file: Media:Xbox360Controller.gro and put it into the root of the game installation (besides other .gro files).

This will result in 4 new configurations appearing in the aforementioned menu:

06a-Xbox 360 Controller - 1
06b-Xbox 360 Controller - 2
06c-Xbox 360 Controller - 3
06d-Xbox 360 Controller - 4
Each corresponds to an Xbox360-compatible controller in one slot. If you have only one gamepad, use the controller config #1. If you have two, use #1 and #2, etc.

And here's the file on my personal GDrive:

Tested in both First and Second encounter and works like a charm, will test with multiple controllers later today.

Man, I followed the directions, and my controller is doing some weird stuff; right stick up looks right, right is up........anyone else ever have this issue? I don't have this issue on other games I use my 360 pad for.
