I mean its kind of an miracle, bc when I connect the radio to the drone and then plug the radio in my computer it immediately disconnects from the drone... and then does not give any input to the game.
the weird thing to me is that the "Game Controllers" Program on Windows10 does infact detect stick movement and even a several number of buttons inputs...
I uninstalled the DLC and for some reason FPS are indeed more stable (i tested it in Short Circuit which is probably the heaviest map performance-wise, i got a variable 65~120 fps and after uninstalling got a constant +90 fps), also the sim feels a lot more responsive in menus and loads noticeably faster without the DLC. I can mantain +60 fps most of the time, so this may look like a small complaint, but i've noticed that when the sim drops under 100-120 fps the physics suffer a lot, it's quite hard to describe. I will test other maps by instalingl/uninstalling the DLC to compare, and will share anything i find here
Also, about the parts, that is completely understandable and it is just a minor detail, there is plenty of parts anyway, so please focus on what your team and the community as a whole actually wants to add (or polish).
Thanks for everything :)
The FPV, because of its thrust/weight ratio, does handle differently... creating a realistic sense of weight to it compared to lighter drones in the game. And, while the handling is noticeably different, I believe it will help virtual pilots become better real life FPV pilots with flight time in both Liftoff and in reality.
Much gratitude to the devs for this addition. I'm not experienced enough to nitpick the details. So, instead I want to say well done... and I'm appreciating all the work put into this DLC. Thanks.
2. Then, go to the "DJI FPV now available as a free DLC" developer post.
3. Look in the upper left corner of the DJI FPV graphic to find the "Download" icon/arrow (blue & black).
4. Click on it. It will download.
5. Once downloaded, you will have to install it.
6. After installation, you may have to also quit your Liftoff session (...or steam altogether) and...
7. Restart it before the downloaded DLC will show up in your fleet of drones.
8. Cycle through the drones available to fly to find the new DJI FPV model.
9. Enjoy!
I do own a DJI FPV Drone and use the DJI FPV Controller for all FPV sims (way less to cumbersome to handle compared to my TX16S). As described before (but no idea why and if it is fixable) I can't use any buttons and potis on the controller, just the gimbals.
I am on GNU/Linux btw.
Not all features of the DJI FPV drone are simulated. Mostly the physical properties of the drone (thrust, weight, battery, drag profile, etc.) are available. Flight controller features are generally not a match because in Liftoff it's our own flight controller that's being used. We don't simulate their proprietary flight controller and its behavior.
So in that regard, you'll mostly feel a match in terms of feel when looking at manual mode, since that's essentially ACRO.
What is the main features of this DLC?
The DLC pack contains a fully flyable DJI FPV drone, an authentic HUD, and a virtual twin of the DJI FPV Remote Controller 2.
This is not a full simulation of the DJI FPV feature set, but offers virtual pilots:
- Manual mode
- Normal mode (without assist features)
After downloading the DLC from the DLC page (Steam) the DJI FPV will appear in your Blueprints list.
