Solutions for Connecting RC Controllers
By far the biggest complaint posted about
This topic should help most people who are experiencing difficulties
getting their feild radio to work with LiftOff.

If your radio has a standard trainer port, (3.5mm/1/8th" mono phono),
then the solution is to use http://www.smartpropoplus.com/
Syntax_Be has a great tutorial found
here:http://steamcommunity.com/app/410340/discussions/0/496881121379747145/
This tutorial can be followed by any radio using a standard trainer port.
Note: Not all radios will be as difficult to set up as the radio in the tutorial.
Also disabling the RF signal by either removing the modual or crystal or in
the radios settings. This will both settle the outputs and save battery life.

If you are using a USB converter cable and are not getting results please
make sure that you check that your version of Windows is recognizing your
Tx by running Joy.cpl using the search box in Windows 7 or later. If not
then LiftOff will not detect it either.
People attempting to use the RealFlight interlink interface cable will
find that this will not work. It is suspected that this cable is proprietary
to RealFlight and will not be recognized.

DJI Phantom controllers. I have personally tried the usb of my
Phantom 2 Vision Plus Tx and it doesn't work in windows at all. However it does
have a trainer port therefore it does work with the above method.
Phantom 1 and 3 controllers do not appear to have a trainer port so my assumption
is that these controllers are not a viable option for any Flight sim.
If anyone has confirmed information about any DJI Tx working in Windows with any
flight sim please post.

Most Futaba radios will require a USB adapter that includes a Futaba trainer port
connection. Look up the FMS adapter cable on Ebay or Amazon.

The FrSky Taranis works great as it has a mini usb output that works perfectly.
There is some in-radio setup involved. A thorough tutorial with model download is
available here:
http://steamcommunity.com/app/410340/guides/?browsefilter=trend&requiredtags[]=Modding%20or%20Configuration&requiredtags[]=english#scrollTop=0
Along with other specific Tx tutorials.

The interlink controller (Comes with RealFlight RC Simulator) and the
Game commander (Comes with AeroFly) work as expected. These controllers were meant
to work as a PC interfaces therefore are the easiest to get working.

This is a complete list as of 2/28/2016 and will be updated as new information surfaces.

Is there any way to connect the Dji phantom 3 controller? It does not have a trainer port. Did anybody figured out?

I'm not exactly sure but I don't think DJI controllers can be used outside DJI systems.

I have a RX2SIM adapter. I have it working using the Taranas Preset. All the controls are functioning as they should with the exception of the "throw". The throttle, I adjusted so I have proper idle to full throttle, but the direction control isn't right. When I do a full stick in any direction, the throws on the controller screen are showing it going only about halfway. I went into my controller and set the throws to full -125 to +125, which helped a little, but it still only goes about halfway. If I try to setup a custom preset, it doesn't work at all. I clicked through all 4 of the controllers, but no response at all. The RX2SIM is showing as a USB game controller in the Device Manager, and I can calibrate it there to show full throws, but it has zero effect in the game. The controls work fine in other sims. Not sure what the problem is. Can anyone help?

Thanks!

In your controller set the the full throw from 0 to 100. Positive values only. Liftoff seems to have a hard time with negative values.

Can I set up a realflight wired interface- my computer is recognizing that the controller is there, but it does not respond.

Out of curiosity has one tried this with the Animon Connex Falcore remote? It has a USB trainer port at the bottom of the device... I know they are pretty new. Happy to see that DJI remote has also worked. I have a Mavic Pro, so maybe that will work instead?

I'm having issues with the game recognising my TX.

I'm using a Turnigy 9XR over a wireless OrangeRx DSMX/DSM2 Compatible USB Dongle:

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/orange-rx-dsmx-dsm2-compatible-protocol-usb-dongle-flight-simulator.html

My computer sees it as a game controller and it is calibrated in windows, but the calibration steps do not pick it up in game. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for the help.

Hello, I have connected my FlySky FS-i6X and it is recognized by Windows, I have even used it with the old free version of DRL Simulator and it worked fine. But in Liftoff, it is not recognized at all. Is there anything I can do without buying a new cable or transmitter and such?

My cable can only switch between FMS/G4 and XTR. (FMS/G4 worked with DRL, don't know about XTR).

OK, I have one of these which works with other sim games. How can I get it to work here before I have to request a refund? https://www.amazon.com/Volantex-Simulator-Airplane-Helicopter-Training/dp/7293000014

My FrSky Q X7 is recognised as a game controller in windows, works in FPV Freerider and worked when i first tried in Liftoff. But when i try it now i get the message saying "Problem Connecting Your"
jvail 2017 年 12 月 11 日 下午 2:32
I would still like to get the Volantex working as it is a cheap dedicated controller that works with other non steam SIMs like FreeRider. In the meantime I got an OrangeRX USB Frsky receiver that works great.

Still many people are, like me, saying windows sees their controller but liftoff doesn't. How can I get liftoff to see my controller? I'm using Turnigy evolution. Windows sees it and gets input just fine.

Check if you have "Massstorage" option turned of on your Taranis.
