Cannot calibrate turnigy 9x, everything shakes , no response on the screen bars
I properly connected my radio via stereo jack/jack cable, to pc with smartpropoplus, transmitter connected, green in smartpropoplus, I get readouts on bars in the smartpropoplus, it works in fpv freerider, but when i launch liftoff-> options->calibration, whatever I choose : joystick, other rc controller, I get the same , I mean no matter what, the bars nervously move by themselves, the test drone shakes all the way up down and to the sides?
how to make this game work with turnigy 9x???

Thee are a lot of guides in the guide section wich deal with this and they work.
I have made it work with the Turnigy 9X , 9XR an 9XR Pro so it should work.
Make sure your noice cancelation is off in you recording options. and calibrate using the other rc controller option in liftoff.

it works right off the bat with freerider, while in calibration in liftoff is all messed up, thats why I believe its something with liftoff which is a pity, would love to play some ....

That it works with fpvfreerider and not with liftoff can happen they have totally diffrent calibration styles.
I got fpvfreerider working in the first place and then tried liftoff when it came out but it wasn't working for me either first it was in the game but after the last large update it works perfectly with these tranmitters.
So i would check if you have noice cancelation in you mic port settings turned on cause that was one of the problems that was making the contols jump for me in the beginning so make sure you turn it off.
Also on the Turnigy 9X make sure you remove the module from your transmitter.

The calibration in Freerider and Liftoff are different, we noticed some people try to do the same thing in Liftoff as they do in Freerider, of course that doesn't give the expected result. Make sure to follow the steps as described in our tool. A lot of people seem to get used to one system and expect everything to work like this in others too, that's not the case.
However, we are aware this project is far from perfect and we promise every system (especially the calibration) will be further worked on and updated in future versions of the game.

I had same jittering problems.. chose taranis instead of "other rc controller" and it works fine on roll/pitch/throttle just zero on yaw. stilll trying to get that to work

Thx Giz77, Mastahz and Lugus. I somehow managed to calibrate properly, after many struggles ;)
Hey Giz77, I chose joystick insead of rc controller , maybe that helps, coz I use smartpropoplus, which basically uses virtual joystick via ppjoy...
now another struggle to make it butter silky smooth on my pc ;)

Hey Lugus, I know its not the place for suggestions, but since I may have your attention because of the calib problem, May I suggest a way to virtually record your flights? just like in real life? from the drone cam, as well as external / virtual cams, just like in other racing games - take a look at assetto corsa, which give give You a LOT of control over recordings....
another suggestion is to make config in some *.ini file so that its accessible for more advanced racers / tweakers....

hoping to hear from You Lugus here , or in private msg,
great job on the liftoff so far

I can use any of the options, joystick, xbox,ps4 whatever and I only get three channels.. the different controls map to different channels so I know it's not an issue with the radio as I "lose" a different direction in each choice.. don't understand why but I apparently only get three channels.. which means until I find out why I can't use the sim

I had the same problem with Spectrum DX6 and had to switch 2 channels on to have clear signal in SmartPropoPlus. I hope it helps. Greets Darius

FYI likely this is not the same problem. The original post was from January 2016 and we have had about 25 updates since that time, including a complete revamp and improvement to the calibration tool. Bumping up old posts often

Turnigy has always been reliable with Liftoff so I think this might be related to something outside of Liftoff.
Make sure to connect your remote before you start the game, also make sure your remote settings are correct and your middleware does what it has to do.

Maybe these guides could help you:

I'm closing this topic as the last issue is likely unrelated to the original post and might confuse some readers. Feel free to start a new topic in our "Remotes & Controllers" subforum if needed.
Thank you!
