I just bought the same one as a starter radio. Didn't get it to work with Liftoff 0.3.3 either.

First thing is to update the firmware for multirotor support. It's explained on the hobby king page.

Then set the i10's USB mode to "TGY-i10 emulator" via System > USB function. It should be detected by your OS as a USB Human Interface Device (HID). I can confirm it's detected in Windows 10 and on OS X 10.11.3 (El Capitan). In windows game controller settings the Axis and switches are functional. Don't know how to test those on OS X.

The controls work with FPVFreerider, but not liftoff on Windows.

For LuGus:
USB ID: 0x8000/0x284E
But you really should support any HID device with enough axis.
I did the Freerider update off of Hobby King, then switched my USB Function option to emulator in the System tab of my radio. Now my i-10 works perfectly with Liftoff. You need to make sure your radio is turned on and plugged in before opening Liftoff. I was even able to assign the reset to the SWG toggle on my remote, which is handy. I've had this radio for over a year now and absolutely love it and I've been flying RC for over 25 years.

I got it to work today as well. Do have some "signal noise" issues on the right stick, but I think that is purely the radio's fault.

I created a controller preset: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3GYzwMtwX1id2ZYZUQyVWdtZ2M/view?usp=sharing
