New Surtur Map

Hey guys, so far the new map in beta is super interesting. I can't wait for people to start building tracks and experimenting. So far the only thing I think can be improved on is adding a few more features to the lava area but I am still exploring it. If you haven't tried it yet I would highly recommend it!!!

New map is massive.

The update in general--- Playback is smooooooth now. No need to allocate processor cores either. This is one seriously great update. Thanks to everyone involved!

closer to the ground i find there is plenty. and by the sheer size and implementation of detail is massive. thanks for great addition to the sim. some glitches on linux but i hope it gets better.

Only a full Icelandic village, a geothermal power plant, mountain ranges, transmission towers, an active volcano, hiking trails, the Nordic henge and much more. More content than most other Liftoff maps, but other than that you are completely right :)

It's not a bando kind of map tho. It's supposed to be big and open i think. Can't wait to see how people fill it up with obstacles in the workshop. But the version there is right now is good to learn how to fly cinematic stuff. Not my thing, but still a pretty cool map. Think it's the largest one yet.

We did a poll on the Liftoff Community Group on Facebook asking if people want more environmets like Surtur or more regular Liftoff sized maps that have more condensed content. About 35% voted for Surtur-size environments and content, meaning that for the first time ever this part of the community gets one that fits their wishes, as supposed to the 17 other levels already available :) Moving forward, we'll keep mixing up things as we go.
