Throttle not working properly
Hello there. I'm really new at this and I'm trying to start with a simulator, in the calibration of the sim everything seems to be alright. However when flying, I need to move the stick more than 50% to lift the quad, throttle below that won't lift it at all (being 50% like the 0) and in the video tutorials it seems to requiere less than 50% throttle to move the quad.

I'm using a Taranis Qx7, all set up with 50 weight and 50 offset as shown in a lot of video tutorials. I have no idea what's happening or how to fix it.

That sounds like you might be in 3D mode (see top left corner), press "A" to switch to ACRO mode.

I used all modes, none of them worked, even acro.

In that case try to recalibrate your input device in the calibration menu, it likely indicates you're reaching only half of your input resolution.

I did it several times. In the calibration screen everything seems to be working but in practice doesn't work.

from 0 to 50 the props sounds as they were working, the sound increases as they were accelerating but there's no hover. After reaching 50% of throttle it starts hovering.

I modified my Taranis setup with a curve to see if it works but the problem persist. :/

Here are a couple of videos to explain better what's happening.

I had a similar problem initially, but I'm using a Logitech xbox style controller, so the throttle is is always centered. I was able to correct this by going into the controller calibration, selecting Fine Tune and setting the throttle zero point to 0.50.This sets the zero point to 50% throttle, so pushing forward from center will provide lift.

A couple of things on the Taranis: I've heard people mention that it's important to make sure the throttle stick is centered before you plug in the controller. You might try attaching your controller with the throttle centered and if that doesn't work, try connecting it with the throttle at 0. In each case, you'll want to try recalibrating the game to see if the throttle responds properly.

Having said all this, can anyone recommend a decent controller for Liftoff? Obviously regular game controllers kind of suck. I actually have an FS-SM600 on order, so I'm hoping that will be what I'm looking for, but if there are cheaper options that are better than this controller and much cheaper than getting an actual Taranis, I'd love to hear about them.

this may be a better deal. the one your looking at is only for flying sims. tho it may be easier to connect to your computer the i6 you can eventually use for flying in real life. drawbacks are you may need to purchase a battery and a sim cable. but worth it in the end

After some research my control was totally calibrated, the issue was more about the quad itself, apparently some quads weight more than others. I tried making a light quad, taking some parts off and changing some to make it lightter and it kinda worked.

Some of the already made models require high throttle due it's weight so I recomend you to create your own quad and try to make it lighter.

PD: Sorry for the odd english.

I managed to kinda solve the problem, try doing a custom quad with very low weight. Some of the default quads are too heavy and demand full throttle to lift.

Click the Fine-tune option in the calibration menu for your controller in Liftoff. If you aren't seeing full stick travel on the radio reaching the endpoints onscreen, you need to adjust your offsets.

I have a Taranis Qx7 too, and if I put -50 offset on throttle I only get about 3/4 of full throttle in Liftoff.

i use the taranis Q X7 just make a new model and dont change anything, i tried the same thing and got the same results. just make sure you turn off the internal RF and external RF
