Huge performance issues!
I just bought the game after trying the, lets say "demo".
Im running it at my Desktop with following specs:

gfx: 1070
cpu: Ryzen 5 @3.9GHz
Ram: 16GB @ 3.2GHz

And i only get around 50fps, in "beautifual" aswell as in "fastest".

Nvidias latest driver: 388.31
And Windows Insiderpreview 17025

cant't figure out whats wrong...

vsync?

I would say that running an unproven OS could be part of the issue. Something you could try ,(providing it is compatible with inside preview or whatever), is Razer Cortex: BOOST https://www2.razerzone.com/cortex/boost It will disable unnecessary processes and improve performance. Works for me on those big maps anyways.

Performance issues here as well on this new version. Windows 7. 2500k overclocked to 4.2 with GTX 780. I was running it smooth 60 frames a sec on Nvidia surround. Now I can't run it on 1 monitor without a jerky mess at 20-30 frames a sec. Also uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Wish I could get the old version back. Running dec 19th Version 0.12.9

Update- Beta Legacy branch works fine....will try experimental.

EDIT:

I'm in love...just tried experimental. Back to Nvidia Surround 5760x1080 Fantastic settings and getting 50-60 frames a sec. Love the new features as well just gotaa get rid of my Spektrum DXE as it is too sensitive and not easy to adjust.

i think the new creators update is to blame. Same thing here, massive performance hit.

Hi Tailgunner6,

Thanks for reporting that the experimental runs great for you. We'll have a look at what exactly shifts the performance between the experimental branch of the game and the current main build to see if we can find the cause for these reports.
I run the game at fastest settings but anyway from time to time the warning triangle appears in the top right corner and it gets really slow. My system should be strong enough as I dont have any problems playing other games with high details. Also D*L sim runs smooth. Really hope this problem will be fixed soon cause I like the game :steamhappy:and it sucks when I am about to make a new personal record and then it gets slow.

same,
I have amd fx 8120 with amd radeon fx 560 4gb (similiar performence to nvidia gtx 1050), on 1440x900 resolution (i have an old monitor) 40 fps in fantastic settings i had huge framedrops, even when i turned everything off (fastest settings) and set resolution to 720p i had 120-150 fps and still sometimes it would go below 10 fps but more rarely, tried razer cortex with no results but when i installed experimental liftoff got 30-60 stable fps in almost every map with beatiful settings on 1440-900
edit
still there are frame drops (sometimes it can go to 20 fps, but never below it)
when i turned off settings to simple they never get below 30 fps

the funniest thing is I built this pc two weeks ago primarly because my other pc barely ran drl simulator, and now with liftoff without experimental version is unplayable for me (its hard not to crash when fps drop from 150 to 10 instantly and stay there for a couple of seconds)

I got this today, played for a couple of hours on the first tracks with hay bales, it was locked 60fps on 'good' (default from when I installed liftoff). I tried the woodland level, couldnt keep a locked 60fps, it kept dropping so went to the main menu and switched the graphics to simple. I loaded the track back up, and found its unlocked my frame rate.

I cant find an option to lock it again to stop the fps from fluctuating everywhere as well as screen tearing :( please help

Edit: the frame rate goes mad fluctuating between like 100-300fps

Edit 2: NVM, found another post where vsync is only enabled on good and above. That sucks ... why :(

Because Liftoff (and drone racing in general) is a very fast paced activity. Unfortunately, our community on average tends towards less powerful systems where the GPU is the main bottleneck. In this light, Vsync is a "luxury": many users, who just about reach an acceptable frame rate are helped more by allowing some screen tearing than by having a more constant, but consistently lower FPS.

In theory, we could decouple Vsync from other quality settings. We haven't so far because it is a bit of an involved change and because, as always, we need to make sure that an overabundance in available options doesn't just create more confusion. (Especially for those users who seek to increase their frame rate.)

I wonder if youve miss understood? Im running a lower end pc. Im asking for an option of vsync on lower settings (or lock the framerate), not disabling it on higher? on a lower setting I get more frame rate yes, but becuase it fluctuatles so much becuase it is a lower end pc, it isnt smooth and consistant.

Basically on 'good', some tracks I cant get enough frame rate for vsync, but on 'simple' I get too much frame rate where I need vsync lol

Cheers for responding though :)

Same here. Had a small PCIU issue that caused LAG in Lift-Off. Now all is good, worked fine for 3days, had a Windows update and again... LAG. FPS drops to 5fps in some official tracks. Doesnt matter if graphic settings are reduced. But.. can't relate the issue as when I perform a graphical benchmark, I'm still in top 10 of overall scores (working on High-End pc).
Installed Razer Cortex and run Boost but no difference. Got screenshots but unable to post here, will do that in the FB group.
