Update- Beta Legacy branch works fine....will try experimental.
EDIT:
I'm in love...just tried experimental. Back to Nvidia Surround 5760x1080 Fantastic settings and getting 50-60 frames a sec. Love the new features as well just gotaa get rid of my Spektrum DXE as it is too sensitive and not easy to adjust.
Hi Tailgunner6,
Thanks for reporting that the experimental runs great for you. We'll have a look at what exactly shifts the performance between the experimental branch of the game and the current main build to see if we can find the cause for these reports.
I have amd fx 8120 with amd radeon fx 560 4gb (similiar performence to nvidia gtx 1050), on 1440x900 resolution (i have an old monitor) 40 fps in fantastic settings i had huge framedrops, even when i turned everything off (fastest settings) and set resolution to 720p i had 120-150 fps and still sometimes it would go below 10 fps but more rarely, tried razer cortex with no results but when i installed experimental liftoff got 30-60 stable fps in almost every map with beatiful settings on 1440-900
edit
still there are frame drops (sometimes it can go to 20 fps, but never below it)
when i turned off settings to simple they never get below 30 fps
I cant find an option to lock it again to stop the fps from fluctuating everywhere as well as screen tearing :( please help
Edit: the frame rate goes mad fluctuating between like 100-300fps
Edit 2: NVM, found another post where vsync is only enabled on good and above. That sucks ... why :(
Because Liftoff (and drone racing in general) is a very fast paced activity. Unfortunately, our community on average tends towards less powerful systems where the GPU is the main bottleneck. In this light, Vsync is a "luxury": many users, who just about reach an acceptable frame rate are helped more by allowing some screen tearing than by having a more constant, but consistently lower FPS.
In theory, we could decouple Vsync from other quality settings. We haven't so far because it is a bit of an involved change and because, as always, we need to make sure that an overabundance in available options doesn't just create more confusion. (Especially for those users who seek to increase their frame rate.)
Basically on 'good', some tracks I cant get enough frame rate for vsync, but on 'simple' I get too much frame rate where I need vsync lol
Cheers for responding though :)
Installed Razer Cortex and run Boost but no difference. Got screenshots but unable to post here, will do that in the FB group.
