We notice that a lot of players who suggest to add a micro-drone also suggest we should add specific environments for them: this illustrates the complexity of adding them perfectly. It not only means we have to create content around this class of drones, it also means we have to create systems and content specifically for each type of class. It's like creating another game inside Liftoff and it means we would have to split up (and slow down) our development efforts and end up with a product that lost its focus point.
It's a complete different class of drones and as a result we would rather create a Liftoff game specifically dedicated to this class of drones instead of shoehorning it in the current Liftoff project.
To conclude: we are definitely not saying "no" to micro-drones, in fact we would love to do a more dedicated project for this class of drones, however we feel that hacking them into the current Liftoff games does not make a lot of sense to us from a technical, practical and conceptual point of view.
Best of luck, and I hope to see your micro-drone product soon.
@LuGus studios, freeflight shenanigans? Because there is nothing better than winning I guess..
I get your point about modifying the game for different perspectives, I guess scaling up the environment would be one way to "feel" smaller. But you are paid by a company who'd like everyone to just buy RTF, flying on Raceband, with their overweight fish goggles on.
Damn, i feel like that might sound a bit bitter, maybe because it's raining, and the Linux version of Liftoff keeps shutting down/ blacking out on me. Just like IRL, when you don't have your day and video signal wires decide to break. Well it simulates that perfectly fine now...
Interesting remark! Who are we paid by exactly?
It would be rad, though! The map possibilities are endless.
They both have cameras and angles similar to a micro sized whoop, I hope that makes it easier to adapt to this game.
For me the key difference is the ducted option, it changes the way it feels.
I have a 3s Mobula7HD and a 4s Beta85X, there are very different from 1s whoops but also feel different from even the micro size they have in the game.
Me and my wife mostly play this to improve our skills and be better with our Cinewhops and it would be great to have the option to fly the new 2s - 4s micros
I see that the years later, the cinewhoops are still not visible in the simulator
Because in the street I can't fly in my country now
