on hard 25-28,
on hardest 50-54,
inferno no limit.
To turn off weapon limits you need 70% complition.
That's defeating easy, normal, hard and half of hardest using air raider, wing diver, ranger and fencer.
That's 1,372 missions so prepare to no life it.
Well being a god who can one shot everything is pretty boring but funny.
Thanks for that info. I've actually been trudging through hard solo hence why my weapons are so high but mission 8 is ridiculous at my level so I wanted to drop it to normal but I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥ due to no weapons. So I guess I have to grind. The system is flawed imo because you kind of get punished for playing at a higher difficulty if you eventually hit a wall.
If you have the full spread of a weapons collection you are still quite beefy even with the caps. "A Trap" took the most tries until I manned up and brough a reverser and let the fencers (and one fencer switching to acid Ranger) with half my capped health value get **** done.
After that, Giant Robots (Which bumped up the cap to lv 31 weapons. Hello, Cascade 2 launcher!) was a theraputic cakewalk for all of us where the fencers cleaned house on one side, and me and the other ranged cleaned up on the other.
With their mere level 20 to 25 tops weaponry by comparison and half of what my health was even after I got it capped down. An small army of hectors is nothing compared to in your face spiders (It always seems to be liberal helpings of SPIDERS that is the difficulty spike indicator, on any level and any difficulty. Could I fight three argos at once instead please?)
Really, the only time the weapons cap is ever a problem is if you were skipping around difficulties so you've got a big hole where the current caps are. Like if you played a ton of hard and try to drop down to normal after you played nothing but Hard, Whoops all of your weaponry is level 10 and up when it's capped to 4ish!
Case in point. He should be completly tricked out, but he has, apparently no relevant weapons for Normal difficulty.
The system is great, because it lets us shortcut to higher firepower if we want it. The flaw is that you skipped over a tier of firepower in favor of ONLY shortcutting.
If you have plenty of hardmode weapons, then swing by some normal levels solo (the weapons carry across) and murder them with your higher tier weaponry to fill out your collection.
Something between mission #23 and #29 should do it to get you started on level 1-7ish weapons, before passing when lv 1 stuff stops dropping.

There is an english toggle, and the "view spawn mission info" will switch it to a drops by level/difficulty chart.
Backfill is thankfully the easy part. You have the advantage, and there is a smaller drops list to work through.
The real ball buster is trying to get bigger "Doesn't drop in Hard" Hardest and Inferno grade weapons.
