RAM hole/memory leak during equipment change in multiplayer. Workaround found.
So it seems after a while when the equipment screen in mutiplayer starts to get extremely laggy and slow the longer I spend in that menu the more of my RAM gets eaten. Its really strange because it doesnt go up if I go for several missions without it.

Im not stranger to dealing with memory leaks, and with google chrome I get them every so often, so since changing to windows 10 I havent gotten a single one. But normally I am able to just kill the process to get rid of the program thats eating it up. Like a simple restart of EDF and it would be fixed and I wouldnt care. But it just seems to get eaten. The only fix is to do a restart of my computer.

Anyone else having this issue and maybe any way to fix it? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Only "fix" I have found is downloading a 3rd party program Called RAMMap which allows a more indepth verison of looking at your RAM. Emptying the "Working Sets" under the "Empty" tab. But of course the game will still run like ♥♥♥ so you need to restart it, but hey, at least you have all your RAM back.

I get this but need to leave the group I am with then join a new multiplayer game. It is really annoying and makes it almost impossible to check out new stuff you got when the game goes at 1fps in the equipment menu. I hope someone has a work around or something.

I wish that was the case, but I have 16GB of ram and when its all being taken up even when the game is closed it gets frustrating.

Have 16 too, doesn't seem to crash completely. I thought I had it bad. I searched so long to find other people with this issues. Your the first person I have seen.

I get this, but leaving the equipment menu and starting a new mission always fixes it for me.
Yeah it only happens in the select mission and equipment menus
I personally play the game for a couple hours and let the ram build up as i have a lot of extra that is not in use. When i am done playing or if it gets too high i use RAMMap to empty the working set which brings my ram back down (it releases the leaked memory). I don't believe there is a fix for it, hopefully the developers will fix the issue.

Tldr: there is definitely a memory leak issue with the game currently.

Ram map, thats the program I used to use and couldnt remember. Its not removable in the windows task manager. Thanks for that.
Well, explains the random crashes even in solo offline mode as well I suppose.

I'll keep an eye on this thread in case solution becomes available
I noticed this too last time I shut down the game all of my ram was in use. Very annoying and needs looking into.
Updated the main post with a temporary workaround to the issue. Still annoying as hell to only be able to play the game for a couple hours or so.

This happens very randomly.. Sometimes it wont happen to us, and others it will.
I was hoping they would have fixed this in todays patch, this is pretty serious..... is it that hard to diagnose? =(
More like, hard to give a thorough check into the game directory to figure out what caused the leak. And it aint THAT easy..... as far as I can guess.

RAMMap is Microsoft Approved tool though .... XD

so how many of us just switched to windows 10?

The equip screen is screwed, but the OS should reclaim any memory used by the game when the process ends. However, I've seen a lot of people mention high memory usage on windows 10 for various reasons. Sometimes due to how it naturally handles memory, sometimes driver issues causing a leak.

I opened rammap and all I saw from edf was a bunch of zombie processes. One from what I'm assuming is everytime I've launched the game since i rebooted my computer. They only took up ~20kb? each so It shouldn't be an issue. Restarting Steam got rid of them.
